YOU ARE ALL INVITED!!!! please join me and friends THIS TUESDAY 11.3 at @troublepdx to celebrate the releasing of my debut album: Oregon Country !!!! i am so excited for this body of work to finally be out and finally be all ours. this is my ode to the political landscape in which i grew up in and the ways the PNW has shaped me as person. i do not think we get it right every time but the policy i have gotten to work on in our state has lead the way for many others and i think that is deeply connected to the creativity and freedom we see expressed in Portland and beyond. we have such a flourishing art community and while there’s plenty more work to be done, im not surprised Portland is where weirdos and outcasts come to feel welcomed. and i do think that is a pilar of our politics and community. LETS CELEBRATE THAT!!!! by @chamomeleonpdx

OMG, I hate gay Halloween, what do you mean you're "if Lestat was a lesbian" 💀

Molloween was such a time, let's do it every year!! @cosmic_cloudbabe ✨️💫❤️😊 by @chamomeleonpdx

BEFORE THE ALGORITHMS, THERE WERE TELEPHONE POLES.

Before sponsored posts and endless scrolling, there were flyers. Stapled to poles, taped to windows, stacked on record store counters. Little declarations that something was happening. That somebody was making noise. That there was somewhere worth being.

And there’s something beautiful about seeing them everywhere again.

Not just ours. ALL of them.

Every poster is proof that somebody in this neighborhood is creating something, organizing something, and inviting the rest of us to be part of it.

That’s how you know a neighborhood is alive.

And Lents? Lents is alive as hell.

So here’s our contribution to the telephone pole renaissance:

THE FIRST ANNUAL COMMON LOON HALLOWEEN BASH!

Saturday, October 31. Three tributes to artists who made being a little weird feel like the most important thing in the world.

THE PRIXIES (Pixies tribute)
Quiet, loud, surreal, explosive. The band that helped rewrite the rules of alternative rock.

BEER FOR BREAKFAST (The Replacements tribute)
Beautifully ragged, gloriously imperfect, and capable of breaking your heart between two songs about getting drunk.

JUDY JOHNSTON (Daniel Johnston tribute)
Fragile, fearless, and devastatingly sincere. Proof that you don’t need perfection to make something unforgettable.

Three celebrations of the weirdos, misfits, and beautiful outsiders who changed music forever.

And when the bands finish?

KJ CAMILLE ROSE takes over for HALLOWEEN KARAOKE UNTIL CLOSE!

COSTUME CONTEST!
Show up before 11 PM in costume and you’re automatically entered to win prizes. Plus giveaways and plenty more Halloween madness.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31

The internet can tell you what’s happening.

But a telephone pole covered in flyers tells you something better:

YOU LIVE SOMEWHERE THINGS ARE HAPPENING.

Support your neighborhood. Support live music. Support the weirdos who make things happen.

LENTS IS MORE.

Your weekly excuse to grab the mic, belt out that song you have absolutely no business attempting, and become a legend for approximately four minutes.

KJ CAMILLE ROSE is running the show, keeping the hits coming and the good times rolling!

- EVERY WEDNESDAY
- 8PM–1AM
- Cold drinks, good people, and absolutely zero judgment about your song choices.

Whether you’re a seasoned karaoke veteran or you’ve been waiting your whole life to unleash your inner Freddie Mercury, there’s a microphone with your name on it.

LENTS IS MORE by @chamomeleonpdx

HALLOWEEN NIGHT AT THE COMMON LOON!

We’re throwing our FIRST ANNUAL HALLOWEEN BASH, and we’re doing it with a lineup that pays tribute to three of the greatest names in alternative music. Throw in a costume contest, prizes, giveaways, and karaoke until closing, and you’ve got yourself a pretty damn good reason to spend Halloween in Lents.

THE PRIXIES — A full-throttle tribute to the Pixies. Loud, weird, and everything you want from a band that helped rewrite the rules of alternative rock.

BEER FOR BREAKFAST — Paying homage to The Replacements. Beautifully ragged rock ‘n’ roll from one of the most influential bands to ever stumble onto a stage.

JUDY JOHNSTON — A tribute to the wonderfully strange and brilliant Daniel Johnston. Songs from one of underground music’s most beloved outsiders.

And because it’s HALLOWEEN, we’re expecting you to show up looking ridiculous.

- COSTUME CONTEST WITH PRIZES!
- Giveaways throughout the night!
- Karaoke after the bands until closing!

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY STRUMS.

This Friday, October 16th, it’s a birthday party for one of our favorite humans, @chamomeleonpdx , and you’re all invited.

You know Camille as the wonderful voice behind our karaoke nights, but did you know they’re also in a band with our beloved kitchen wench @smashabeth and the incredible @hannahdimo ?

That’s right. Complimentary Colors is taking the stage, and we’re celebrating Camille the only way that makes sense: great music, great people, and a whole lot of love.

Joining the birthday festivities are bad and @jojogoldlion , making this a three-band celebration before we turn the microphones over to YOU for late-night karaoke.

And because it’s a birthday party in October, costumes are highly encouraged. Get weird. Get glamorous. Get wicked.

I'll wax poetic about it all later, but for now, I'll just echo @brandicarlile 's sentiment and remind you to keep your heart young! ❤️😘🎉🥳🧁 Now off for some big celebrations built by my darling @smashabeth and friends!!!! by @chamomeleonpdx

TUESDAY — Looney Bin Comedy • 8PM • $5
WEDNESDAY — Karaoke w/ KJ Camille Rose • 8PM
THURSDAY — Ramblin’ Rose • Grateful Dead tribute • 8PM
