Cycle for the Cause 2026 • Team Eagle NYC

Unfortunately, due to unsafe riding conditions caused by a nor’easter storm, this year’s ride was cancelled…but the fundraising was always the goal.

Team Eagle NYC has raised $275,515 for @lgbtcenternyc. With the fundraising efforts I committed to for the last year as your Mr. Eagle NYC 2026, almost $35,000 of that total came from Jell-O shots, raffles, tickets to movies and a play at The Eagle, and individual donations. I am endlessly grateful for everyone who’s shown up for me, Team Eagle, and The Center this past year.

I was supposed to have given a speech to the riders and volunteers on Sunday morning, the last day of the ride. Here’s what I wrote:

Good morning!

My name is Champ and I am Mr. Eagle NYC 2026 (for one more week) and Team Eagle NYC’s personality hire.

I’m honored to follow in the footsteps of previous Mr. Eagles who have participated in Cycle for the Cause, including those in this room: Thom Kam, Peter Schwartz, and Rick Webber.

I want to start off by saying how proud of you all I am. Your dedication to training, riding, fundraising, getting up early, volunteering your time, and showing up – in-person – to be here carrying so many passions, pains, traumas, and stories is exemplary and I hope you know how wonderful you all are. Thank you.

I’m fundraising for The Center to honor my cousin Robert Thomas Krebs – Bobby.

I never knew him. He died of AIDS when I was 6 years old. In fact, I never knew anything about him until maybe 10 years ago. The stigma of being gay and dying
of AIDS kept his name and history out of family conversations. He grew up as a second-generation Italian-American in NYC. He was an actor, coming from a long line of artists in the family. He had a partner. He played the trumpet. He could have been me if I was born 30 years earlier. The “moral majority” of the 80s
wanted us to forget him.

While I was robbed of an opportunity to have him in my life, committing my energy and time to raise up The Center honors his memory.

Thank you 🫶 taken in The Eagle NYC by @champleatherpup

INTO? Leather Community Night
🖤❤️🤍💙

For my final INTO? as your Mr. Eagle 2026 on September 17th, I want it to be a celebration of this incredible New York City community we’ve created for ourselves. All Leather, gear, rubber, sports, and fetishwear is encouraged (but never required). You all have SHOWN UP this year and I’m so grateful. Come dance with me starting at 10pm at The Eagle and bring your friends and family. I want this to be a celebration.

Bruce will be on boot duty from 10-midnight.

BUT FIRST…. SWIPE ——————>

LEATHER, CIGARS, & STORYTELLING
hosted by @onyxpearlsnyne and @akashic_eden

The doors will open early on Thursday, September 17 starting at 8pm for cigars, drinks, Leather, and storytelling from our elders and other community members. We’re planning on being on the roof, weather permitting. The event will take place rain or shine.

Admission is $10 and the proceeds support ONYX Pearls NY/NE and Akasha’s travel fund as our IMsL 2026.

Come celebrate each other as stories are passed down and preserved in our collective memory. 🥃 taken in The Eagle NYC by @champleatherpup

Leather and a Movie: A House Is Not A Disco at The Angelika benefiting SAGE

$3,330 was raised by ticket holders and donors, going directly to @sageusa, helping to provide vital resources for our community elders.

I’m so grateful to you all for selling out my 3rd movie screening event in a row. I’m endlessly humbled and honored that so many of you have committed to doing good while having fun - in and out of the bar.

I’m having fun in the home stretch of my title year! Sunday’s Team Eagle Beer Blast was a celebration of our community and a reminder of what can happen when we use our talents for good. I’m so grateful for the team volunteering their time to represent @cycleforthecause, raising money for vital services provided by @lgbtcenternyc to New York City.

I’ll be supporting the team on their ride as a crew member. Every penny you donate to any one of us goes towards the team’s goal. Even just a few bucks can add up to something bigger. As the federal government continues to waste vital funding stripped from non profits on pool linings, ballrooms, and hostage takeovers of our best institutions, we have to keep standing up to fascism. We’re unstoppable when we do things together.

Thank you for continuing to give your time, attention, and dollars to organizations that I’m passionate about.

🖤❤️🤍💙

It’s VIRGO SEASON, y’all…!

And as a proud Virgo, I’ve been busy plotting out my final month as your Mr. Eagle NYC 2026.

First up: VIRGO’S GROOVE on Sunday, September 6 celebrating Virgo Birthdays at The Eagle. @anydeviation and I, your resident Virgo Cohosts, will be gathering on the roof (weather permitting) and selling Jell-O shots to raise money for @translatina_org.

Then…I’m off on my final trip as reigning Mr. Eagle: Berlin from September 10-15. I can’t wait to be back for another @folsomeurope, if for nothing else than getting ice cream at Berghain as the sun comes up.

Then I’m back in NYC for a double event night at The Eagle NYC on Thursday, September 17. First up is @akashic_eden and @onyxpearlsnyne presenting an evening of LEATHER, CIGARS, & STORYTELLING on the roof at 8pm (weather permitting), immediately followed by INTO? Leather Community Night at 10pm. All tri-state Leatherfolx and Club Members are encouraged to attend both events to celebrate each other in unity.

Then I’m off to Providence, RI for the Mr. Providence Eagle Contest Weekend from September 18-20 where I’ll be judging! I can’t wait to see what New England has to offer! See you at @providence_eagle!

Then I’m resting a few days before joining my teammates on September 25 as Crew Member for @TeamEagleNYC x @cycleforthecause. 🚴‍♂️

(Also if you happen to be at Forest Hills Stadium the night of September 27, let’s dance together at the @whereismuna x @carlyraejepsen concert.) 🪩
