After more than seven years at Condé Nast, I’m leaving my full-time role @BritishVogue and moving to a new position as Contributing Sustainability Editor.

I’m so proud of having the opportunity to shape Vogue’s sustainability coverage over the years, from launching The Closet Digest podcast and the Fashion Is For Everyone campaign to writing in-depth features on the challenges faced by garment workers and beyond.

That’s why I’m very excited to continue contributing to Vogue’s sustainability coverage, while also being able to work on my own personal projects in the space.

My first cover story!

For @BritishVogue’s sustainability-themed January 2024 issue, I had the privilege of sitting down with @EmmaWatson to talk about her early adoption of ethical and eco-conscious fashion, her decision to take a step back from acting, and why she’s now focusing on her “inner scorecard”, among other things.

“Activism is about connection, community and joy,” she told me, “because what is joyful is sustainable – what you love to do is something you can do for a long time. And that’s what we need.”

My first piece for the @FinancialTimes! Inspired by the #RickOwens x #Adidas collab during men’s fashion week, I looked at whether air-conditioned clothing is likely to catch on amidst the ongoing heatwaves this summer. Fan jackets have already been around in countries like Japan for the past two decades – honestly I could do with one this week!

It was such a privilege to be on the judging panel for the 2026 @BritishFashionCouncil Fashion Trust awards, which provide designers with funding, as well as mentoring and business support, to help them scale sustainably and build long-term resilience.

Huge congratulations to this year’s much-deserved recipients: @PaoloCarzana, @ToluCoker, @Nicholas_Daley, @ConnerIves, @Patrick__McDowell and @ClioPeppiatt.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Pamela Anderson (!) and @TheOfficialPandora’s CMO Jennie Farmer on stage at the Global Fashion Summit in Copenhagen last week.

We talked about lab-grown diamonds, the importance of aligning with our values, and the role that those with platforms like Pamela’s can play in speaking out within the sustainability space. She described herself as a “romantic activist”, a phrase I love.

For the May issue, I wrote about the chemicals in our clothes, and the forays brands are making into so-called “clean fashion”. It’s a topical issue given the recent news of an investigation into the possible use of PFAs – aka forever chemicals – by Lululemon.
