16 October, Chair Series IV @denijverheid

chananja uses baritone guitar, voice and layers of sound to create intimate moments suspended between tenderness and friction. she likes words, strings, bodies, field recordings and noise, stretched and gathered into soundscapes. she leaves space for improvisation, letting sounds remain unpolished, dreamy and uneasy. taken in De Nijverheid by @chananj_

hiii!! my track "manual, wax" is out now via @o3o_.0o compilation album qamörra 💚🌸💚

"manual, wax" started from the strong & dissipating sounds of an old, detuned (very dusty) accordion ruby found on the street in front of our house and gifted to me, alongside field recordings i made on busy streets in italy. then i play and sing and things go beep boop. remembering & stretching ..., it thinks of the cyclical nature of care & the always-approaching shaping edges around impact 🪾

verrry excited to share such an intimate few mins among so many sweetnesses on the album!! 💚 🌸

the full compilation is out march 27th, but you can preorder through bandcamp nowwww w w
all proceeds will go directly to @thesameerproject , a palestinian-led mutual aid initiative providing emergency aid to displaced families in gaza.

mastering by @timomeilof & artwork by @leezzeee 💚 xxxxx by @chananj_

picking up where we left off at parc de bruxelles this weekend 🫲🏻🌻🌅☀️🫱🏻

@chananj_ taking over our @kiosk.radio slot from 1500 hours [3pm]. a word from her on what to expect ~~>>

“delicacy and chaos meet in tenderness. in this mix, chananja follows rivers and the meandering paths they take as they branch, diverge and return. along the banks: guitars, words, dreamy rhythms, field recordings and noise.”

Suprise! The wonderful Thomas Hell & chananja will be joining us for a live show in the upstairs area this Saturday. 🌊

Thomas Hell & chananja combine various genres, ranging from nostalgic trip hop, tender experimentalism and a blend of guitar music & field recordings. Guided by sea gull sounds, a love for Arthur Russel & a fascination with shiny objects they attempt to find a way forward in an increasingly incomprehensible world.

No doubt it’ll be special. Join us there. 🕊️ by @chananj_
