"I can't vote for the things that matter to me, but you can." Those are the words of Jaleah, age 11, from Birmingham, AL. Today is Election Day. Some of our girls across Alabama can't vote yet, so they're asking you to vote for them, until they can. Their priorities include education, healthcare, safety, mental health, housing, climate, and economic justice. Swipe to hear from girls in Birmingham, Trussville, Pinson, Leeds, Fultondale, and Center Point. Then go vote: blackvotersmatterfund.org/vote. #VoteForMeUntilICan #SouthernBlackGirls #BlackGirlsVote #YouthVoice by @chanceelundy

We’re showing up. But who’s showing up for us? On The Don Lemon Show @donlemonofficial, our Executive Director Chanceé Lundy spoke plainly about the lack of investment in Black girls and women across the South. After hearing from women and girls on our Joy & Justice Tour, one message was clear: the dollars aren’t reaching the issues we care about most and are impacted by most. When things get cut, we’re the first on the chopping block. We say we want young people to grow into leaders, but we have to invest in them. Beyond Election Day, where are you showing up for us? Every girl deserves a childhood. 💗 Today is International Day of the Girl, and this year's theme is a call to action: End child marriage and invest in girls' rights! More than 12 million girls are married before adulthood every year. Across the South, we're answering that with investment. Through the 2026 Black Girls Defense Fund, we put $350,000 into 24 Black women-led organizations in 13 states. They keep Black girls safe, healthy, mentored and heard.
