Seeing the radial geometry ✏️ 📐 of Emma Kunz healing drawings at the Independent Fair was a dream come true. The elevator opened on 4 directly into H&W’s booth and seeing the table top presentation resonated deeply. I only wish the gallery had provided context for why and how they were created (during her 🫸✨🫷 sessions) so viewers could share what I experienced. Still feeling all the connecting energies from last week’s opening of “Beneath the Visible” @pelhamartcenter! My 🍄‍🟫 folding books are a way to transport my mind back into the forest and this action shot perfectly captured the Studio Foray table. Enjoying the bug’s 👁️ view looking upwards at the fungi.

Pelham Art Center is a three stop quick ride on Metro North 🚆.

Opening tomorrow @springbreakartshow , the amazing artist couple/parents/curators @toddbienvenu & @rowanhannah have put together “Parental Guidance Suggested!” It’s an incredible group of artists who have incorporated materials collected with their kids.

Possibly my ‘favorite first’ is the inclusion of “Lantern Thinking” to the exhibition at @pelhamartcenter’s “Beneath the Visible.” A term coined by developmental psychologist Alison Gopnik to describe our fresh brain taking in all of our environment as children. It’s a stack of 500 in progress shop rag works that curator @spiralarb wanted to present as a sculpture! For every viewer there was an immediate sense of curiosity to see what was beyond the first visible piece at the top of the column. The hints of color and pattern appearing at the edges teasing at the possibility of more to discover. taken in Pelham Art Center by @chancyracket

End of opening night shenanigans with some of my favorite peoples! “Beneath the Visible” @pelhamartcenter will be on view during regular hours and we will have an artists talk on 10/22! It’s an easy train ride from Grand Central Station and I am always open to meet up for a visit. When I learned of @johnxblack’s 💡 for his first curated show @nyccultureclub (inside the Port Authority) my brain went wild with images. I’ve been holding onto a length of yellow reflective tape and knew this was the time to use it. Beacon(s) is a 20 X 16”collage on panel and my take on the confluence of midtown’s energies.
