Buck Fever is rapidly increasing in the Midwest, so we brought on the Herd Bull himself, @chancywalters, to really fire up the hunting talk on the Pod.

Sacked them up in the dock jungle at @lakeoftheozarks with the Herd Bull himself @chancywalters . We jumped in two fishing tournaments this weekend. First was Warrior William charity event. Such a great tournament for a great cause. Had a 110ish boats. Second was SHOW ME Tournaments that had around 50 boats. Made us some lunch money and won some prizes. I think I enjoy the camaraderie almost as much as I enjoy the fishing. Also got to play doctor and help a fellow fisherman out ( Cody Yates ) that took a jerkbait to the face.

I've been running the @the_frog_factory Top Toad for years! Let me tell you its a sleeper! Its got the weight to it so you can skip under docks like a breeze! It catches biggins! Run that thing over cover like a buzz bait ! Game over! @nicklebrunbassfishing won 500k 🏆on this bait the other day! Its the real deal!
Get you some! Tons of bad ass colors to choose from!

The Iowa Bass Federation- TBF semifinals was a damn rascal! Made some great decisions on day 2 to make a run for it with the biggest bag of the tournament with a whopping 11.98 lbs of mudd hole bass but just fell a little short on a couple missed opportunities! Can't wait until next year to battle on a couple of my favorite bodies of water to try and qualify again!

Congratulations to my buddy Aaron Benton " Boater" and Gary Coffman "Co Angler" for the WIN this weekend at Lake Rathbun for the TBF National Semi Final! Both anglers will advance to the @thebassfederation Championship March 27th- April 2nd, 2027 where they will compete with anglers from all across the nation for there share of the "Living The Dream" package including over 400k+ in cash/prizes as well as advancement opportunities into some of the highest levels of the sport.

Lake Rathbun was a challenge this weekend with a very tough bite mixed in with more rain then anyone asked for. Despite the bite and bad weather new friends were made, stories were born, and a good weekend was had.

Shout out to @gabegolubosky_fishing for putting on a great qualifying derb🤙 Looking forward to next year already!🎣

Top three results

"Boater"
1st Place- Aaron Benton 19.23lb
2nd Place- Kyle Coffman 18.53lb
3rd Place- Chancy Walters 18.33lb

"Co Angler"
1st Place- Gary Coffman 9.32lb
2nd Place- Jamie Kristi DeWees 9.21lb
3rd Place- Bill Ray 9.15lb

I had to wreck some wiper for a few minutes during yesterday's TBF practice on Lake Rathbun! One of my favorite fish to eat and one of the most fun to catch! The boys back at camp were happy to see me roll in with these rascals!

Asked Iowa bowhunters for their favorite jerky recipes, and y’all delivered! 🦌🔥 This maple sriracha sweet heat is a keeper! Star of the show is @purehamelmaplesyrup

🌶️ SWEET HEAT MAPLE VENISON JERKY
For 5 lbs of venison:
2 cups maple syrup
1½ cups soy sauce
1½ cups Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup liquid smoke (I did less)
¼ cup sriracha
Chipotle Tabasco, to taste
2 tbsp EACH garlic salt, pepper & brown sugar
Crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat 🌶️
Marinate for at least 24 hours.
5-6 hours 160

Love this @cosoricooks dehydrator. Linked in my bio.

Drop your favorite jerky recipe below. I’m always looking for new ones!
