Turns out I was never meant to fit into one category.
Movement taught me that.
Life confirmed it.

Finally getting a moment to share something that means so much to me 💙

Our @northrayyoga 75-Hour Mat Pilates Teacher Training was such a special reminder of why I love teaching, learning, and being in conversation with this practice.

I’m so grateful to every teacher who showed up with an open heart, a curious mind, and a willingness to question, explore, and deepen their understanding of Pilates. My hope was never just to teach a repertoire, but to help each teacher develop their own philosophy, find their voice, and understand the why behind what they teach.

There is so much value in honoring the classical roots of Pilates while continuing to ask questions, learn from science, and explore how this practice can evolve. We can respect the work that came before us while expanding our understanding of biomechanics, breath, strength, and the beautiful complexity of the human body.

Not changing Pilates just to keep up with a trend, but evolving our teaching with curiosity, intention, and a deeper understanding of the body. Beyond chasing a sensation or a shape, there’s an opportunity to build strength, create connection, and help people feel more at home in themselves.

This work is always better in community. I couldn’t have done it without @northrayyoga , @alicetoyonagawellness & @emilymorwen who said yes to this vision with open arms, @madisynsloane for supporting me and the teachers of this training, @nourishwithnirja for beautiful insight into functional anatomy, @harold_holness who empowered the thoughtful athletes within ourselves. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, supporting this vision, and helping make this training what it was.

Here’s to the teachers who keep asking questions, the traditions worth preserving, and the conversations that help this practice grow!!!

The future of Pilates is thoughtful, curious, and rooted in understanding.

This summer (and honestly, this past year) I’ve been deep in the next chapter of my career.

After years of teaching full time, helping studios with teacher development, building programs + mentoring teachers, that has naturally grown into leading my own (humble 🥹) Pilates teacher trainings… which are GROWING eek!! And building @elsewheremvmt with my favorite humans. (@elansoreal + @harold_holness )

It’s exciting, but I realized somewhere in all of that, I needed to pour a little more back into myself.

So while @grooveyavalon our primary chef 😂, is out of town for a minute, I did my second @owlvenice Reset.
Four days of really simple, nourishing food, movement, work, rest + a little more consistency.

What I love about this reset is that it doesn’t feel like trying to “be good” or follow a plan perfectly. There’s a guided menu for inspiration, but you’re encouraged to listen to your body, repeat the recipes you love, skip what you don’t and eat if you’re hungry.

AND THE BROTHS!!! 🥹 I’ve been sipping them while working, between classes and honestly whenever I needed something warm + grounding.

It felt less like a reset from my life and more like a reset within it 🙌🏻
@owlvenice gave me a 10% off code for friends who want to try it too: CHANDLER

Thanks to my friends at OWL (Our Whole Life 🌙)
Collaborating with like minded wellness spaces is my jam and I am grateful for this supportive community!

And of course moving in my favorite thoughtful spaces @hume.losangeles @northrayyoga !

Happy restful Sunday friends!
Xx,
Channy

A big, beaming congratulations to our Mat Pilates Teacher Training graduates! ✨

The deepest gratitude to our incredible faculty for sharing their knowledge, heart, and a whole lot of wisdom. To the 🐐 @chandler.farren - thanks for leading with such integrity and passion.

There’s something so magical about being in a room full of teachers, soon-to-be teachers, and forever students. People hungry to learn, curious to grow, and excited to keep asking questions.

More of this coming soon! 👀 by @chandler.farren

Family beach weekend!!! 🌊

In the best way, these Grooveys have been in such a busy season of life. We made a conscious effort to slow down, drop in, and make the most of our time together.

Salty hair, happy pups, fish & chips, a few waves, and exactly what we needed 🤩🫶🏻

10+ years in movement has changed what I think is sexy.

It’s less about chasing a certain look or pushing my body to prove something…

It’s the ability to move through life with more trust.
To balance on uneven ground, get up from the floor with ease, sit in stillness, play, lift, laugh, and be fully present for the moments that matter.

I’m grateful for a body that continues to teach me, surprise me, and carry me through this life.
This is what fitness means to me now 💙

What would be on your list?!

Thoughts sparked from many conversations with students and fellow teachers… so here’s a little personal thought on movement, trends Pilates, and where we’re headed.
I also think so much of the back and forth and defense between varying Pilates philosophies is coming from some of these factors, not so much in the fact that we’re adapting the practice.
I’m all for adapting, evolving, getting stronger, and exploring what this practice can be. I just don’t want us to lose the human being in the process 🩵

Movement isn’t about proving one philosophy is right.
It’s about understanding why you teach the way you do.

In this conversation with @holness_performance_training we talk about coaches practicing what they preach, why simple often serves our clients best, and the evolving conversation around Pilates. Classical foundations. Contemporary approaches. Low-impact strength. Time under tension.

None of it has to compete. The real question is: Can you make intentional choices for the body in front of you?

That’s the kind of thinking we’ll continue exploring in our @northrayyoga Mat Pilates Teacher Training this fall — helping you develop your own teaching philosophy while giving you the anatomy, movement principles, and programming tools to support it.

If you’re looking to deepen your understanding of movement and become a more intentional teacher, we’d love to have you. More information is in the link in bio, and feel free to DM me with any questions — or if you’re in the industry, 🤩 ask me about our professional discount. by @chandler.farren
