Meet our second June Bingham Finalist, chandra thomas!

Originally from New York, often found in Los Angeles, chandra thomas is an award-winning multi-hyphenate storyteller. As a playwright, her work has been presented at The McCarter Theatre, Primary Stages, Barrow Group, Naked Angels, Echo Theater, The Road Theatre Company, Barter Theatre, Downtown Urban Theatre Festival, Vivid Stage, Passage Theatre, LAFPI, among others. chandra’s full-length plays, rom-com-drama THE BUZZER and multigenerational-family circus play ...OF CHAMPIONS, were named Finalists in the Blue Ink Playwriting Award. She was a nominee for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. Also a television and film writer, chandra’s credits include Emmy Award-winning comedy, MOM. chandra earned her MFA from Columbia University. Keeping in the storytelling tradition of her vibrant immigrant family, chandra’s writing blends humor with emotional heart and social bite. And she absolutely loves baseball and plants.

😍... Few things more special than getting to collab with fab people AND fab artists. It's that and more getting to work with these amazing creatives on this staged reading of my play on 9 Mar in LA.

Probably the most straightforward description of THE [DREAM] PREFERRED is it's a real-time, sociopolitical, non-holiday, holiday play wrapped up in a romantic comedy 😅
