Years of education, training, certifications, and experience… but apparently the real secret is learning how to dance in front of a ring light. 😂

In all seriousness, we’re glad social media gives us a chance to make eye care feel a little more approachable, answer common questions, and help more people understand what’s actually going on with their vision.

Cataract surgery may be quick, but recovery is still a process. 👀

Many patients notice clearer vision within the first few days, but complete healing typically takes about 6–8 weeks. During that time, your eye is adjusting to the new intraocular lens, inflammation is settling, and your vision continues to stabilize.

In the first days after surgery, it’s common to experience things like mild blur, light sensitivity, watering, glare, or a gritty feeling. The key is knowing what’s part of normal healing and what may need a call to your doctor.

Swipe through for a week-by-week look at cataract surgery recovery.

Remember that even if your vision feels better quickly, your eye may still be healing underneath. Keep using your prescribed drops, follow your surgeon’s instructions, and don’t skip your post-op appointments.

If you’re preparing for cataract surgery or need follow-up care, schedule an appointment with Chang Eye Group in Pittsburgh. 💙

A lot of eye symptoms are easy to brush off as “normal”… until they start happening all the time. 👀

Sometimes those symptoms have a simple explanation, but sometimes they’re your sign that it’s time to have your eyes checked.

The important thing is not to ignore changes just because they seem small. A comprehensive eye exam gives your eye doctor a chance to look beyond your prescription and check your overall eye health, too.

Swipe through for a few symptoms your eye doctor would want to know about, and save this post in case one of them sounds familiar.

And if something about your vision has been feeling off, schedule an appointment with Chang Eye Group and let’s take a closer look. 💙

Fall has officially started and as the temperatures start to drop, you may notice your eyes feeling a little different too. 👁️

Seasonal allergens, lower humidity, indoor heat, and extra screen time, can all make dry, irritated eyes more noticeable this time of year.

And while reaching for eye drops every time your eyes feel dry may seem like the easiest fix, persistent dry eye symptoms can have different underlying causes.

This means the right treatment isn’t always one-size-fits-all.

Swipe through to see why fall can be a tough season for your eyes and a few things you can do to keep them more comfortable. 🍁

If your eyes are already feeling dry, irritated, or just off as we head into the new season, schedule an appointment with Chang Eye Group and let us help figure out what’s going on.

If you have diabetes, it is extremely important to see the eye doctor. 👀 Here’s why:

High blood sugar can damage the tiny blood vessels in the retina over time, leading to diabetic retinopathy and other vision complications.

What most poeple don’t realize is that diabetic eye disease can begin developing before you notice any changes in your vision.

A comprehensive dilated eye exam allows your eye doctor to look closely at the retina and check for early signs of leaking blood vessels, swelling, or other diabetes-related changes.

So if your doctor tells you it’s time to schedule an eye exam, don’t put it off just because you can still see clearly.

If you have diabetes and it’s been a while since your last eye exam, schedule an appointment with Chang Eye Group and let us help you stay ahead of changes in your eye health. 👁️

Your everyday habits can have more of an impact on your eye pressure than you might think. 👀

From what you eat and how you move to the way you hydrate, use screens, sleep, and manage stress, small choices can all play a role in supporting healthier intraocular pressure (IOP).

Swipe through for simple ways to support your eye health, but remember that regular eye exams are still essential for actually measuring your eye pressure and catching changes early.

If it’s been a while since your last eye exam, schedule an appointment with Chang Eye Group in Pittsburgh and let’s make sure your eyes are getting the care they need. 💙

“Wait… is my contact even in there?” 😂

Contacts should feel comfortable enough that you’re not thinking about them all day. If yours constantly feel dry, move around, or just never seem quite right, your lenses may not be the best fit for your eyes.

At Chang Eye Group, we can help make sure your prescription, lens type, and fit are actually working for you. 👀
