Hard work. Humility. Heart.
That’s what defines Evan. Our hardest worker, a true leader who carries himself with class on and off the court. His love for the game is matched only by the love and support of his amazing family. Proud to see him named to the All-Tournament Team, a well-earned honor for someone who leaves it all on the floor every single time. 🏀🔥 taken in Millennium High School (Goodyear, Arizona) by @changedanarritive

None of this started this season.

It started in the offseason. Extra workouts. Long practices. A lot of reps when nobody was watching.

This recognition for Coach Taylor being named 3A South Region Coach of the Year is a reflection of the work being put in across the whole program.

We’re especially proud of our guys.

Roland Clinton – All Region 2nd Team
Makhi Williams – All Region Honorable Mention
Brayan Moreno – All Region Honorable Mention

All three of these young men also made the Principal’s List in the classroom.

From day one we’ve never focused on the result more than the effort. We focus on showing up, putting in the work, and doing things the right way. When you stay committed to that, success eventually follows.

This is a great moment for these players and another building block on the journey.

But we’re not done.

The work continues.
We’ll be in the gym all summer

🏆 FLOWERS FOR COACH CHIP! 🏆

Change Da Narritive would like to give a special congratulations to Coach Chip — Robert Taylor on receiving the Special Recognition Award from the Tenant Association of Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, NY! 🗽💐

This recognition is bigger than basketball. It represents years of dedication, leadership, mentorship, sacrifice, and pouring into the next generation.

Whether it’s in Tucson, Brooklyn, or anywhere in between, Coach Chip continues to live what Change Da Narritive stands for: meeting the youth where they are, believing in them, and showing them that there’s another way. 💯

The trophies and medals in these pictures are great, but the real wins are the young men standing beside them. 🏆❤️

From organizing opportunities to coaching, mentoring, supporting, and simply being present — the work speaks for itself.

Congratulations Coach Chip! Well deserved. 👏🏾

Family, community, and basketball came together in a major way! Robert Taylor Johnson, widely known as Coach Chip and the founder of the Change the Narritive non-profit, pulled up to support his cousin, former NBA player and current Cleveland Cavaliers coach Omar Cook. The energy was unmatched, and the building was packed. The event featured highly anticipated guest appearances from Taj Gibson and Lenny Cooke. The absolute highlight of the night? A surprise pop-in from Cleveland’s head coach, Kenny Atkinson, which completely shocked Coach Cook! Thank you to everyone who came out to make this turnout so special.
