After two years this page is changing. In 2024 Palästinaforum was born out of the need to continue what was started at the Palästinakongress in Vienna. I admit it was partly an act of defiance because the Palestine movement in Austria is difficult to navigate. But the more work went into this navigation and a constant struggle to collaborate, the more I realized that we don’t need another Palestine page in this country. What we need is intersectional activism. Connection. Looking outside of a bubble. I’m so lucky I found other activists who joined me in intersectional work. Maria Bissan, Mara, @rogerusbyz and @pianowithrobyn @_anti_christine_ @korafromthecore, to mention a few. Not all stayed, some followed their own journeys, but I’m thankful for each and every one of them. And I am incredibly thankful to @andrewfeinstein and the team of @shadowworldinvestigations who taught me so so so much about activism, about antimilitarist work, about teamwork and kindness in a very unkind world. And to get things done despite everything. Collaborating with them is the honour of my life.

So today we are becoming something else. It’s not a farewell to Palestine. Palestine will always be at the core. But it’s an opening in different directions. A decision to take space and occupy squares. Looking forward to seeing you there! by @changesquares

Have you signed our petition yet? The game is in six and a half weeks, we need you support and your signatures to try and convince the ÖFB not to go ahead with it. Israel should be banned from FIFA, UEFA and all international competitions, sports and culture. Boycott works!

I had typed my customary huge commentary* but insta deleted it and I've lost the will so in brief

This is a photo of the last 8 Defend Our Juries sitters from Sunday. The police left them until 5am - 16 hours - before giving up. They absolutely hoped they'd give up, but police have famously never been very bright.

They did not want to have to deal with Mike, our blind, wheelchair using hero, you could just tell. So they stuck it out as long as they could before knockong off so they could leave at the end of their 10-6 shift.

Insane lying police as well. Did you notice how they're saying there was a total of 19 more people who were anywhere near who weren't arrested? As if there were only 19 people spectating 🤡 Very creative maths given there was probably over a hundred journalists and photographers alone, let alone welfare, companions, supporters.... Minimising clowns.

*Instagram has a fun new trick for the past month where it sometimes deletes one or more photos when it autoshares to Facebook (record is 17 of 18) and I didn't realise for this it had missed the main front one 💀 and about two weeks ago it also started sometimes deleting the entire text from insta and the fb share. I didn't notice it had done that on this post and can't copy paste as usual cos it's long gone from the clipboard 💀

Double bonus, the Facebook app I use to post my The eloquent quirk posts hasn't posted the last three at all so I have to redo them totally. As if spending every waking minute recording, then documenting and exposing about the horrors in the world isn't fun enough without having it take ages longer, and redo it all. This visibly innocent, placard free, man somehow upset their pride by simply existing so the thicko police power trip illegally arrested him, with handcuffs, for absolutely nothing on Sunday.

I knew about it cos I was talking to him as he owns the gorgeous and stylish dog I posted the picture of, but didn't see it happen. This is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS. Afaik, nobody else was handcuffed at all, but the single person arrested for doing nothing was. Hope he gets a big payout and donates some to DOJ and Palestine 😂

Seid laut gegen Rassismus an Österreichs Schulen, besonders von Lehrkräften, welche von Medien und sogar der Vizebürgermeisterin eine Bühne geboten bekommen.

Heute um 19:00 Uhr findet deswegen vor dem Theater Akzent, Theresianumgasse 18, 1040 Wien, eine Kundgebung gegen genau das statt. Erscheint bitte zahlreich.
