Sometimes the pleasantries will not be there, an author can randomly open something up on their website and we are currently in a HUNGER GAMES MOVIE to get it before it sells out in 1 minute.

Also be advised you just might have to actually buy a flight here or there because we like going to book events which 9/10 is not in the same state you are located in 😅😅😅
We need book shelves, book shelf accessories, tote bags, e-readers and that that’s just the basic book community essentials that are needed.

FYI to all who wants a @curvesathome sale are typically every two weeks. You just have to verify the time. But be advised you have to move with urgency. Because at 12:01 one of those bags in your cart will be sold out while you’re waiting to checkout 😅😅.

Even though summer is coming to an end it’s still a BLACK TOTE SEASON!!!! I am closing the door on Sean for now (I’ll keep it cracked) because I have to go support the other black greatness that are dropping fire bags.

I love that the bags are exclusive but available if you know what I mean. They are all affordable and unique and I love that for us 😝

Alani… STAND UP SIS!!! 😭 But when the ex is YAYA?! Girl, I truly understand the concern. 😂

If you’ve read the Ethic series by Ashley Antoinette, then you already know Alani, Ethic, Yaya AND even Dolce’s history had me STRESSED a little bit. And no matter how much Ethic loved Alani, you cannot tell me Yaya’s presence wouldn’t have you side eyeing just a LITTLE bit. 👀

YAYA knew she was THAT GIRL and then some. When that letter came in the mail and that plane ticket was sitting on the table?! BAAAAABY, I would’ve been questioning that man too!

And we’re not even gonna talk about Dolce because sis was DELUSIONAL.But we can’t say she wasn’t a bad bitch! However, she definitely crossed the line and got what she deserved.

But honestly… the way Ezra “Ethic” Okafor was 🍆 Alani DOWN?! I already knew Dolce wasn’t going without a fight!!!!

Be honest: Was Alani doing too much, or was her insecurity about Yaya VALID?! 👀⬇️

BOOKNIK WAS A WHOLE VIBE! 📚✨🖤

Y’all… we finally LEFT THE GROUP CHAT! 😂😂 @whoisericaa__

One of my favorite parts of Booknik was seeing people I’ve connected with through social media and FINALLY getting to meet them in real life. Because there’s something so funny about talking to somebody online, interacting in the comments, watching their content… and then suddenly we’re standing in the same room like, “WAIT… YOU’RE ACTUALLY REAL?!” 😂📚

Booknik was more than just a book festival. It was Black readers, Black authors, book lovers, creators, and people from the culture coming together to celebrate BOOKS and community. 🖤📖

From discovering new authors and adding entirely too many books to my TBR 😂, to meeting people I’ve only known through my phone, having conversations, taking pictures, and soaking up the energy of the event — THIS is why I love being part of the book community.

As a Black book content creator, I’m making it my mission to get outside the algorithm and actually EXPERIENCE the book community. Book festivals, author events, Black-owned bookstores, book signings, meetups… if books are involved, I want to be there! 😂📚

And honestly? There’s something special about being surrounded by people who understand why you can’t walk past a bookstore without “just looking” and somehow leave with three books. 😭

So yes… @thebooknik , thank you for the memories, the books, the connections, and for finally getting us out of the group chat and into REAL LIFE! 🖤📚✨

I’m starting a new intentional habit where I going to run the streets of Atlanta and Metro Atlanta one Black-owned bookstore at a time! 🖤📖

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥!! At least ONE Black-owned bookstore every month + at least ONE book purchased at every stop. Because we’re not just going to browse the shelves…we’re putting our money where our love for books is. 😌📚🏾

First stop on our journey is Village Books 📍
📌 213 Mitchell St SW, Atlanta, GA 30303

The young man in the video is named Jet. He was extremely welcoming and very engaging.

Located in South Downtown Atlanta, Village Books is an independent, Black-owned bookstore with a thoughtfully curated selection featuring fiction, nonfiction, local authors, books centered around Black culture, children’s books, literary gifts and more. It’s also a space for community, author events and conversations around books and culture. (downtownATL)

And listen…if you know me, you already know I’m leaving with a book. Especially if I have to drive 😂 Because what is a bookstore trip without adding another book to the TBR?!

So this is officially Stop no. 1 of my Black-Owned Bookstore adventure! 🖤📚
