NIA is a beautiful, moving and graceful film by debut writer & director @chantelleaboraah. It follows a young Black woman in the aftermath of her grandmother’s death as she undertakes a journey of self-discovery

To celebrate the film’s release on @ukfullyfocused, we sat down with Chantelle to speak to her about the real-life inspiration behind the story, removing dialogue for the titular character, and balancing her vision with listening to her crew’s ideas

Last week I was selected for the @bfinetworkfhse directors lab. It was such an incredible experience learning from director David Anderson and watching other directors direct and their techniques. It’s affirming when other directors confirm you can actually direct and it’s not just something you love doing 😭

Thank you so much for selecting me! #BFILab by @chantelleaboraah
