my avó was the most caring, kind, bright soul, who always had a bit of fire in her. she always knew how to make me feel better and always made sure i had mcdonald’s money whenever my mom said no. she was a second mother to me, helping my mom and dad raise me for the first few years of my life.
she always loved her Calippo ice creams, her chocolate liquor bottles at christmas, and her family. honestly, if she could’ve lived off of the ice creams and chocolates alone, she would have. anyone who knew her, even for a brief moment, knew how beautiful of a woman she was, inside and out. i was so blessed to spend my final moments with her in november, and to be there to put her to rest this week.
my shining light, my heart, minha avó, you are no longer suffering and are in the hands of our God, reunited with your loved ones again. i will miss you in this world for the rest of my life, and i can’t wait to see you again.
