A little rain wasn’t going to keep Chattanooga inside! ☔️

We took the mic to the Walnut Street Bridge reopening to ask folks one of our favorite questions: What’s Your Outside? 🎤

Now we want to hear from you! What’s YOUR outside? 🌿

Phase 1 of the Alton Park Connector now open. Connected to existing section along 33rd st.

Phase 1 of the Alton Park Connector is bringing a 1.3-mile greenway to South Chattanooga, connecting Broad Street to St. Elmo Avenue along a former railroad corridor.

Built in partnership with the Trust for Public Land, the 12-foot-wide concrete trail will feature improved crossings, lighting and wayfinding.

It’s part of a larger 2.6-mile vision to connect South Chattanooga neighborhoods to the Tennessee Riverwalk, parks, schools and jobs. by @chaparksdept

Over 20,000 Chattanoogans came out last Saturday for the grand reopening of our beloved Walnut Street Bridge, and we can't stop thinking about it! This is not only one of Chattanooga's major connectors and historic landmarks, but a meeting place for the community.

This major restoration wouldn't have been possible without the time and care of far too many people to name — from crew members who laid steel and wood to our community partners and business owners who adapted to the closures. This bridge is truly a testament of the compassion within our city, continuing to serve you all for another 136 years!
