@coleman.jennings makes good music, and I wanted to tell a little story that came to mind when I ran across this song again, so I pieced together a few clips. Chapel Wild supports the arts, nature and being outside, and maintains a quiet faith.

A poet must discover that it’s his own story that is true, even if the truth is small indeed.

Worry vs Prayer
This is a lesson I learned some time ago:
Worrying about something is a stubborn reliance on our abilities and a fear that they will fail. All the thoughts rattle around our heads and go nowhere.
Prayer is facing God releasing it to Him. One is self-centered, one is God-centered. One is a fist, one is an open hand.

How to avoid God:
Chapel Wild embraces a quiet faith that is commonly encountered while outdoors and while alone.
After reading what Lewis wrote below, it couldn’t help but see how it is describing most people’s day-to-day lives - anything to not face ourselves. We are killing ourselves with comforts.

“Avoid silence, avoid solitude, avoid any train of thought that leads off the beaten track.
Concentrate on money, sex, status, health and (above all on your own grievances. Keep the radio on. Live in a crowd. Use plenty of sedation.” - C.S. Lewis

Video made with the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P fully zoomed in (12x) with low light. It feels like summer, but it also feels like change.

Art is the veil.
It is a line in the sand that says to laziness, defeat, and despair,
“This far you shall come and no further.”
It is forming a hard honesty through pain and pressure. It is a lit candle in a darkened room.
It is the language of victory spoken by those still in the fight.

Driving on a dirt road in Humphreys County, Tennessee, has always been a source of contentment for me. Take a few seconds at the end and listen to what late summer sounds like in the South.

Psalm 65
King James Version
65 Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.

2 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.

3 Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

5 By terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea:

6 Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; being girded with power:

7 Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.

8 They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
