Happy Halloween🎃

From me and my spooky read: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
I’m not really into spooky stuff because I get scared like super easily🫣 but I still wanted to read something with dark, gothic vibes so I opted for this English classic that I’m loving!

What are your favorite spooky reads?👻

📚 morning brain stack - inspired by @mandyrulezzz 💌

I love a trend that promotes anti-brainrot, going to the library and literacy 🙌🏻
This is my very own morning (or evening, when I have time lol) brain stack.

I've always loved doing sudokus but I only did them when I was on vacation for some reasons?!? So now I do them everyday and I'm obsessed, I also discovered Murdoku which is soooo fun, I highly recommend!
Then I'm getting back into journaling bc I have to admit that it helps with my mental health, so I'm trying to be more consistent.
Then of course I read for a while, but that's not a news lol.
Then I like to make a to-do list for the day, otherwise I tend to forget stuff I need to do🫣

This is your sign to make time for your mental/brain health and put down your phone for a while🫶🏻

📖 Hamnet - Maggie O'Farrell

This book broke and healed my heart at the same time❤️‍🩹
Going into this I thought we would focus on Hamnet or Shakespeare, but our main character was Agnes, Hamnet’s mother, and I fell in love with her instantly. She is a strong woman, with a witchy side, who doesn’t care about society norms, and with a soft side for the ones she loves. This book was incredibly moving, we witness grief from the point of view of the whole family, and we empathize with all the characters (except for John, I hate him). It is also amazingly written, the writing is lyrical, poetic, moving and some passages were just genius (eg. how she described how Judith got the pestilence). I also loved that we got the pov of literally everyone, from Agnes to the fox that wanders in the street. The way she describes grief, death and love is incredible, I felt every word, every emotion.

I really recommend this book, but I recognize that it’s a little challenging so you have to be in the right mind set to read it and you also have to be ready to cry all your tears😭

Have you read Hamnet?

📖 how similar is our reading taste?

I saw this challenge pretty much everywhere on booksta and I think it's so fun!! So I had to do my version, but I think I may have put too many books lol, sorry guys🫣 Since I've been a reader my whole life, I wanted to put books from my childhood until now.

So how similar is our reading taste?💌

📖 my bookish confessions 🫣

Guys don't judge me too much please🤭 Do we have something in common?

My TBR of shame🫣

Guys don't judge me, especially for those books I bought in middle school and still haven't read lol. In my defense, I'm planning to read those soon or later!!

The only books on here that I don't know if I'll ever read are Fourth Wings and Crescent City, even if I know they're super loved, I'm not sure I'm gonna love them, but they're so hyped that I'm having FOMO.

What's on your TBR of shame?

📚 Influence/deinfluence my TBR: fantasy series edition.

So, right now I'm in the middle of only 1 fantasy series which is the Kindred's Curse saga, so I thought I could star some new ones?
These are some of the series on my TBR and I thought I could ask you guys to help me choose which one I should start first.

Have you read any of these? Which are your favorites?

📖 How much I read in a week.

This past week I didn't have much time to read but that's okay bc I spent more time with my friends and family💌

I'm a slow reader so 475 pages is still a lot for me and I read two beautiful books:

✦ Hamnet - Maggie O'Farrell: which I'm still reading but loving it so far (I've already cried once)
✦ Caught Up - Liz Tomforde: 4🌟 it's a sport romance and my fav in this series so far!

What are you reading rn?📚

Recently Sally Rooney's books have been banned in the UK due to her supporting Palestine Action.

So what a better time to start reading her books? Let's boycott her being banned!! I really hope her sales outside the UK will skyrocket after this bulls*it!

She's one of my favorite authors, her books explore complex characters with complex relationships and mental health issues while also criticizing modern society. She's probably one of the most honest and sharp voices of our generation with an ability to put us straight in front of our emotions and makes us look at our behaviors, from a new prospective.

Have you read any of her books?

📚 Last, now, next: a little reading update ✨

✦ Last book I read: "Spark of the everflame" (3.75🌟). First book in a 4 book series, I really liked the magic system and the MMC, but the plot was really slow, nothing really happened until the end. Anyway, that's okay for the first book in a series, I want to continue it.

✦ Now: "Hamnet" an historical fiction book about Shakespeare's family.
"Caught up": sport romance that I'm buddy reading with my bestie @nennyconfa 📖

✦ Next: "Glow of the everflame" as I said I want to continue the Kindred's Curse saga.

What are you currently reading?👇🏻
