my first anime expo! ₊˚⊹ ᰔ

(swipe for more details!⭐️)

night one ⭐️ after my drive up, my brother surprised me with a jjk blind box! i pulled geto YASSS we ended the night going to dinner. we had some of the best hand rolls and ice cream 😫

day one⭐️ we started our morning at the azuki booth to pick up some goodies then made our way over to the gachiakuta panel! we got to see the season two teaser and hear Rudo’s voice actor do live voice acting ⭐️ (definitely a highlight) everyone’s cosplays were AMAZING. i cosplayed as Chihiro from Kagurabachi in honor of episode one playing at the panel later that afternoon. so many steps taken and met so many new people.

day two ⭐️ my brother and i decided to spend this entire day exploring new booths and shopping. one of my highlights was going a demo for the new TCG azuki 🤭 now I’m hooked! since this is the busiest day of anime expo, it was a little overwhelming, but luckily, we were able to go to the 21 lounge to get a breather and enjoy yummy food while watching live performances. this day i cosplayed as Shanks from One Piece.

day three ⭐️ we started our morning bright and early for the Jujutsu Kaisen panel. we got to celebrate the anniversary with the Japanese and English voice actors for Yuji and Geto. this day i cosplayed as Gojo.

first summerween book 🖤

There’s nothing I love more than slasher movies. This book is the perfect embodiment of it.

I have been in a summer slashers mood for summerween. I am so happy I did the audiobook because I visualized it all so well.

In Breathe In, Bleed Out, we follow Hannah who is suffering PTSD after her boyfriend’s death. For Hannah to overcome her fear and guilt, her close friend encourages her to take a wellness retreat in a secluded Joshua Tree camp. Just a couple of friends with a lot of secrets, no technology, drugs and a two very odd spiritual guides. What could possibly go wrong?

This was exactly what I needed. Being a Southern California native, it was so funny to hear of the stereotypical LA natives going on a spiritual journey to Joshua Tree, where everything takes the wrong turn!

This book was the perfect mix of dark comedy, misdirections, unreliable characters, “who done it” moments, and gruesome details. taken in BOOKSTA by @chaptersofjen
