Some cute snaps from Jenna & Kolbes rainy downtown wedding last weekend at Charbar. Kolbe cried! Jenna wore a cape! They got tea to warm up! The bridal party nailed the colour scheme! It poured rain immediately after the ceremony finished! Their friends and family survived the Calgary fall weather! The kids were up to mischief! And it was just all the very best. 🥰

How we cook our meat matters.🥩

Our custom-built Argentine parrilla, the first of its kind in Alberta, is the soul of charbar. It’s the weekend so it’s time for Good Things I Ate This Week (GTIATW)!

1. Had dinner at @thebarchouetteyyc to see what @colbyxtio and @t_b0hn are up to. This duck breast with Manhattan demi glace (what?) and foe gras cassoulet (WHAT?) is phenomenal. Just so audaciously delicious.

2. The grilled branzino in miso brown butter was also delightful.

3. As were the blistered snap peas with stracciatella and pistachio and the tuna crudo with fried capers. Bar Chouette is on fire right now.

4. Oh, and is there any dessert more tempting than an ile flottante? This one is with coconut mousse and roasted pineapple!

5. BTW, Chouette also does a mean martini.

6. Paid a visit to @dniprovillage, a new Ukrainian spot in Mckenzie Towne. Borscht! Best with a shot of horseradish vodka.

7. They put a bib on you for the borscht.

8. And really lovely little cabbage rolls.

9. I did not have pierogies (I know, must go back) but this deruny (potato pancake) with mushrooms was aces.

10. Went to @charbar_yyc to cheer on @conniedesousa and @chefjohnjackson in the Pitmasters finale. They make the best chili dogs!

11. The hosts with the most.

12. Stopped by the new @craftbeermarket in Shepard Flats to see what @chefdyer has done with the menu. Loved this whipped burrata with pistachio.

13. But these sticky ribs? Must-order at Craft. So tasty and crave-worthy. Seems like a perfect happy hour dish to have over post-work beers.
