'Farewell Trion'

I first heard this tune in Vermont at Green Mountain Bluegrass Festival 2022. Learned it on the fiddle shortly after and have been playing it ever since. It's one of my favorites, the funky pause in the B part makes the tune for me.

Finally got to go back to the festival this weekend. Watched Tim (guitar in this clip) and Dani (fiddle) rip heaters for days and they were gracious enough to let me sit in with them on fiddle for this tune. What a blast 🙏🫶 by @chardbard

My sis @prairieteeth has been my favorite musician since I knew what music was.

First clip is from a dinner party last December. Second clip is an voice memo I took near Flathead lake in Montana when my siblings came out to see me last summer. 🫶 by @chardbard

'Sligo River Blues' - John Fahey

Saw my friend Eli recently and we had the chance to sit down together and pick some. He asked me "Got any new John Fahey?" - the answer was "No".

Honestly I was a little embarassed, so I immediately started working on this tune 'Sligo River Blues' (an old favorite). Turned my brain into rhythm spaghetti, but managed to get it somewhat clean. Perfect tune for a gloomy Sunday. Thanks Fahey (and Eli for the push) 🙏

Link in bio for the full video!

@wesleyuszacki and I woke up before sunrise to catch the light at this crazy spot up in the mountains. We've been friends for years, and it was a really nice way to spend the morning catching up and playing tunes.

This 'Good Gravy' tune is a new favorite of mine to play. Go check the full video to get all the good mountain shots and the rest of the silly verses.

If I had a McMansion,
red ferrari with stripes
be no time for writin
oh it'd eat me alive ...

probably won't need to worry about that one
