🗞️ Reported in The Times today.

⏰ Local authorities in England have until 30 October to apply for their allocation of £25m DFT funding to subsidise cross-pavement channels for their residents.

But some London boroughs don't plan to apply. We fully understand that councils must take all the time they need to consider maintenance & liability arrangements but the good news is there is no time limit to spend the funds.

Cross-pavement charging is proven to accelerate EV adoption as it makes running an EV 5 - 10 x cheaper than public charge points.

We're excited to announce that Kerbo Charge has acquired Charge Gully to Supercharge EV Adoption Across the UK 🚀

The acquisition brings together two of the UK’s leading innovators in on-street EV home charging.

Both brands share one mission: making EV ownership possible for residents without driveways- whether it’s Kerbo Charge’s patented pavement-contouring channel or Charge Gully’s lockable aluminium design.

Kerbo Charge will invest in Charge Gully as a separate brand, continuing to offer choice to local authorities and residents across the UK. The company will also take over Charge Gully’s existing product warranties and stock will be shipped from their central logistics hub.

This announcement promises to accelerate the rollout of safe, affordable, and accessible on-street EV charging across UK streets. 🚀

Big news for Scotland's EV community!

The Energy Saving Trust has just introduced a new up to £3500 grant to help residents in Scotland install cross-pavement charging solutions.

This is a game-changer if you don't have a driveway.

On top of that, you can still apply for the existing £350 UK government grant that covers the charger itself.

We're excited to help more people across Scotland benefit from convenient and low-cost home charging! by @chargegully

A significant week for cross-pavement charging solutions.⠀
⠀
Following the Government’s £25 million funding announcement to support English councils in rolling out cross-pavement charging, London Councils has now released new guidance for London boroughs.⠀
⠀
🚗 Mayor Brenda Dacres, Executive Member for Transport and Environment, commented:⠀
“Cross-pavement charging is a simple but powerful innovation that can help open up affordable home charging to thousands of residents – and reduce trip hazards at the same time.”⠀
⠀
This is great news for London Boroughs who benefit from a clear way forward to implement cross-pavement channels like Charge Gully.⠀
⠀
The new guidance which generally contains more details that the guidance from the Department of Transport released over Christmas, will be useful to any Local Authorities around the country looking to offer cross-pavement channels to their residents.⠀

Great news!⠀
⠀
The government has just announced £650 million funding to support drivers purchase new electric cars through the newly launched Electric Car Grant (ECG).⠀
⠀
The grant will be available to car manufacturers from 16th July and will allow the greenest 'band one' cars to receive a discount of up to £3,750 and 'band two' cars up to £1,500, for vehicles up to £37,000 in value. This will be available until 2028/29.⠀
⠀
The grant will be offered at the point of sale for new eligible electric cars. Like the old Plug-in Car Grant which was killed off in 2022, the manufacturer will apply for the money so the paperwork for the consumer will be minimised.⠀
⠀
Based on the bands, between 173,000 and 430,000 new electric cars will benefit from the grant.⠀ by @chargegully

Great news over the weekend as the Government just announced, part of a wider £63m package for EV charging infrastructure, £25 million funding for local authorities in England to expand the roll out of cross-pavement solutions.

The Government said:

"This will provide access to cheaper household rates, allowing consumers to save up to £1,500 a year compared to running a petrol or diesel car, transforming how thousands of households without driveways power up their electric cars.

The innovative cross-pavement technology will allow cables to run safely beneath pavements, connecting homes directly to parked vehicles, enabling more families to tap into cheaper domestic electricity rates for as little as 2 pence per mile even if they don’t have a driveway."

Being already in six UK local authorities, at Charge Gully we are proud to be the lockable cross-pavement channel market leader, offering a secure worry-free way for residents to charge their EVs across the pavement. by @chargegully

🌍 Celebrating Net Zero Week 2025 – 5–11 July

We’re proud to join the UK in celebrating Net Zero Week, the nation’s flagship climate-awareness initiative driving dialogue and action on the road to net-zero by 2050.

🔋 Why It Matters Now
- Climate scientists warn emissions must be slashed by 50% every five years to stay within 1.5 °C warming limits https://reut.rs/409AiOv
- The UK’s Office for Budget Responsibility estimates the net-zero transition will cost around £800 billion by 2050—about £30 billion per year—highlighting the scale and economic impact of decarbonisation https://bit.ly/407sih5
- Public momentum is rising: yesterday, over 5,000 people in Westminster urged MPs to take urgent climate action https://bit.ly/44kFXUp

🌱 How Charge Gully is helping
- Our innovative cross-pavement solution supports the green transition, helping the 1/3 of UK households without off-street parking reduce carbon emissions effectively.
 - Our channel is entirely made of metal ensuring it is long-lasting and the off-cuts can be recycled at any recycling centre.
- Our company policy is to hold all meetings online and where not feasible, use public transport as much as possible.

📣 What You Can Do This Week
- Engage with your local MP: Net Zero Week is the perfect time to advocate for stronger policy and support sustainable infrastructure.
- Tell your green story on social media — tag us #ChargeGully to highlight how you or your organisation is contributing.

💬 Final Thought
Net Zero Week isn’t just about awareness—it’s about action. It’s a national call to work together across businesses, governments, organisations, and individuals to turn ambition into impact. At ChargeGully, we’re committed to powering that change, one cross-pavement channel at a time. by @chargegully

As the UK embraces the shift towards electric vehicles, the demand for accessible and convenient EV charging solutions is growing rapidly. However, installing charging points in urban areas, where people only have on-street parking, presents unique challenges.

This is where Charge Gully can help with our innovative cross-pavement EV charging solution https://bit.ly/46s66yo

🌍 Driving Change, One Car at a Time – with Charge Gully 🌍⠀
⠀
Every time a petrol or diesel car is replaced with an electric vehicle, we’re taking a tangible step towards a cleaner, greener future. On average, each EV on the road saves around 1.5 tonnes of CO₂ per year compared to its internal combustion engine counterpart. That’s equivalent to flying from London to New York and back – twice!⠀
⠀
At Charge Gully, we’re accelerating this transition by making EV charging more accessible, convenient, and reliable. Our innovative solution brings charging to where it’s needed most – helping drivers without driveways confidently make the switch without compromising on convenience. By supporting more EVs on the road, we’re directly contributing to substantial annual CO₂ savings and cleaner urban air.⠀
⠀
The move to electric is more than a trend – it’s a necessary shift. At Charge Gully, we’re making that shift smoother for everyone. Let’s keep moving forward, one EV at a time. ⚡🚗⠀

Great news for Suffolk residents!

Suffolk County Council has launched a 12-month trial of the Charge Gully on-street EV charging solution, offering residents without off-street parking a new opportunity to charge their electric cars more affordably and conveniently.

The trial, run by Suffolk County Council in collaboration with Charge Gully, involves Charge Gully installations at 12 properties in Suffolk. It aims to address a significant barrier to EV ownership: access to home charging for people who park on the street. by @chargegully
