@findingemilyfilm follows a sociology student who writes a paper about a young A/V guy at her college and accidentally falls in love with him the process.

The setting is Manchester, England, and Americans will almost, ALMOST require subtitles (it demands your full attention 😱). The cast swirls with quirky characters; voluminous, thrifted costumes; dim pubs; housing blocks; and chicken shops. 🇬🇧
.
If you like movies that don’t make you despair for the future of human existence and rom-coms that are deeply emotional, oddball, and ~ technically perfect ~ (I stand by this), ‘Finding Emily’ is for you.
.
Twenty-years ago, the character of the student would’ve been the guy, while the A/V tech would’ve been the girl, but the power dynamics are flipped here, although no one is a jerk or a player. [Which, usually I relish a jerk/player brought-to-heel story, but this works too!]
.
TRUST ME YOU WILL LOVE IT! 🙋🏼‍♀️It’ll eventually stream 💤 on [something?probably the one service I don’t have!], but trust me, 'Finding Emily' is worth a trip to the real movies.

Absolute icon. I am crying real tears.

I got 'the call' from my first Avon editor @ck_emme while standing in line for Daredevil Falls at Dollywood, and the timing could not have been more meaningful.
.
Not only had I been a lifelong super fan of her music and acting, Dolly had come to embody feminism in a way that made so much sense to me: vibrant, hard-working, talented, gorgeous, unrelenting, female, and EXTRA.
.
The world will be sending up tributes this week and they're so deserved. What a way to be famous--sharing your gift while also advocating for marginalized communities, literacy, and embodying kindness.
