My entry for the @thehungergamesonstage fanart contest!! 🏹💘 @miacarragher @euan_garrett

you know i HAD TO to shoot my shot at winning stageplay tickets and a signed copy of the hunger games from SUZANNE COLLINS herself 😩❤️❤️❤️

Here, i wanted to focus on Katniss’ three-finger salute! It means thanks, admiration, and was a way to say goodbye in District 12. In the 74th Games, Katniss used the salute after Rue’s death, showing all of Panem her respect and admiration for her supposed “opponent”. This small gesture eventually became a symbol of the resistance and of unity.

This was definitely one of the little moments that showed why 16 year old Katniss Everdeen HAD TO BE the mockingjay. From volunteering as tribute for Prim, honouring Rue, and protecting Peeta by threatening the gamemakers to eat the nightlock berries, Katniss’ compassion for others was undeniable. She gave people hope, the only thing stronger than fear 🔥

TL:DR i LOVE Katniss Everdeen!!!! Also not forgetting the chariot, one of the coolest parts of the stageplay?!!! Yes that’s my girl on fire 😌🔥🔥 Anyways hope you enjoyed my fanart >< 💘
