CLIENT SPOTLIGHT 💥 When Sean first came to UFIT, he suffered from severe lack of overhead and thoracic mobility, which was inhibiting his golf game. His main goal was to improve his mobility so he could implement swing changes with his golf coach. Fast forward 1 year and after consistent hard work following a functional strength program with an emphasis on mobility, Sean has dramatically improved his thoracic rotation to 90 degrees, which has allowed him to make big improvements in his golf swing technique. 🏌️ He’s also: - Dropped his golf handicap by 6 shots ⛳️ - Increased his driver distance by 30m 🏌️‍♂️ - Can now comfortably do an overhead press (whereas pressing past 45 degrees was previously a challenge). 🏋️‍♀️ - Hit multiple strength PBs, including a 130kg barbell deadlift. 💪 Amazing work Sean! 👏🏼👏🏼 by @charles.d.performance

Stop making yourself slower before playing Long static stretch holds Slow heavy movements with no intent These are just over stretching your body and training slow movement patterns. We want to be engaging the correct muscle groups and training movement patterns for the up coming activity Try this minimal equipment warm up ⛳️💪🏼 #golf #training #sports #strength #fitness by @charles.d.performance
Power & Sequencing These two aspect come hand in hand in the gym and the golf swing. To create that ‘effortless’ power in the swing, sequencing needs to in order To increase power & speed in that movement we need to train strength & power in the gym to be able to build a robust and fast engine #golf #training #sports #strength #strengthtraining by @charles.d.performance
KISS My favorite acronym in the training world Far too often workouts become too complex and with too much volume (definitely guilty of training myself that way over the years) 😬😬 Stick to the basics and master them For the most part to be good at any sport you are required to be strong and robust with good movement competency required for your activity Don’t over complicate! ;) #golf #training #sports #strength #strengthtraining by @charles.d.performance
Power Training in your training session A bit of an insight to some of the power moves I do before moving into strength training These not only train your ability to produce force but have great carry over prior to performing compound lifts such as a Bench press/ Deadlift #golf #training #sports #strength #strengthtraining by @charles.d.performance
Struggling to maintain a good good swing? Mobility or Stability through your shoulders could be holding you back Take yourself through these tests and exercises and feel the improvements #golf #training #sports #strength #strengthtraining by @charles.d.performance
Intent…Intent…Intent That is what makes the difference when wanting to create real change and gain speed. Yes we can all lift heavier and get stronger in certain areas. But the reps on the range and intent when training need to have purpose. If you want to move fast….then learn how to move fast! K.I.S.S Keep It Simple Stupid 🤓 #golf #training #sports #strength #strengthtraining by @charles.d.performance
Early extending?? Follow along to test yourself, get stronger & improve that movement pattern 💪🏼 🏌️‍♂️ #golf #training #sports #strength #strengthtraining #golflife #foryou by @charles.d.performance
If you are struggling with coming over the top or getting a bit jammed and steep. Firstly check if you can disassociate your upper and lower halves. If that is not feeling very free then give these exercises a go! Face up knee Xovers - 2x10/10 Mountain climber Xovers - 2x10/10 Half kneeling KB lifts - 2x8/8 Lower half separations x5 Step and hit drill @truelinkswear.uk #golf #training #sports #strength #fitness #strengthtraining #surgery #fyp #fypシ #ig by @charles.d.performance
Here is an insight to what I am working on currently. What is important is to understand why you have your certain tendencies Is it a stability, mobility or strength issue. Another big key for change is understanding how you react best to swing changes! Are you a technical or a reactive player! This is huge! #fyp #fypage #sports #training #strength #golflife #surgery by @charles.d.performance
