I have another video idea to show this same concept but it’s a bit nastier in the tone so I figured a pure advice/breakdown video would be better to post (first😂). The internet has allowed creative trends to get popular really quickly, it’s important to remember there’s never just one way to do something. When it comes to art, doing things in a different way is often more effective. Local events are cool because big business does not need to be involved, using AI is involving big business. You could say the same thing about adobe express and canva (and I do lmao) but the AI art style genuinely reminds people of big business in the current state of things. Big business are supposed to pay to have their name involved in local events because they’re contributing something you couldn’t do alone. Be in this world not of it ✍️ by @charlesfoxcreates

Pretty interesting to see how effective not supporting a specific location can be. It’s cool to see Bom Bon back in Pilsen even though they have other locations in Chicago too. In the UK, Subway was forced to either change their white bread recipe or call it cake because of its high sugar content, the US has less food regulations so it’s not crazy to say Pilsen Chicago got rid of a corporate cake shop fronting as “sandwiches” and replaced it with a real cake shop. I don’t think this was an organized boycott, more of natural selection with Banh Mi City making it easier. Makes you think how effective an organized boycott to raise food quality in your neighborhood could be though 🤔 taken in Pilsen, Chicago by @charlesfoxcreates

Does any other sports franchise have this many eras? Is there any league more interesting than the NBA right now? I know Celtics haters will bring up racist Boston history that affected our team (Massachusetts is progressive af that’s why Boston stands out because we call it out), they won’t mention the progressive strides that the CELTICS organization made during the civil rights era. An all white team passed on Bill Russel out of racist principles, so we got him☘️ also Celtics were the first team in NBA history with an all black starting 5 by @charlesfoxcreates

I thought I was going to add a hooky intro to this video but it works so well by itself, Deem’s voice at the end saying “thank you for coming” is so smooth too you’d think that was added in later. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE COMMUNITY THINGS IN CHICAGO, I could and should make a whole video about Deem, Cymba as well, they’re both good role models who do interesting stuff while being real people. There’s atleast 5 events I want to go to every weekend in Summer now and I’m prioritizing this one Saturday. Also as you can see this one is extra special for Father’s Day so if you’re dad come through! This is a good opportunity to take some time for yourself while also benefiting the people in your family because you’re working to be an even better version of yourself taken in Pilsen, Chicago by @charlesfoxcreates

Imperialism has been crazy to read about and I think I should make a video about it because not only did it create the world we live in but there’s still a lot parallels to how some people think in this society. The connection between geography and history is so fascinating because it’s always changing like you think national borders are rigid but they are very malleable by @charlesfoxcreates

Some more crucial information I wish I could put in the video:
This paid impressions model is what got me off twitter/X years ago, not just because of bot accounts. I noticed people I knew personally were saying controversial stuff that I don’t even think they believed in because it generated engagement, they had the blue check so they were getting paid from that engagement. The worst part is for them to receive those (typically small) payments it requires a monthly investment so when you realize your genuine self doesn’t demand consistent conversation, you’re basically forced to stir the pot just to get your money back.

Now the 2nd point is really important. The first AI influencer I show in this video is openly AI, there’s many accounts like that with a glossy (non realistic) face so we’re lead to assume AI influencers will self identify. A few months ago I saw an AI influencer pretending to be a real sports reporter with intentionally deceptive content, including real players having fake affairs with her. I COULD NOT FIND THIS ACCOUNT AGAIN, probably because I couldn’t remember the name, but it’s evidence that these AI creators are moving in stealth. The 2nd example I show, the health advice threads account, JUST POSTED A VIDEO TODAY TO “PROVE” THEY’RE NOT AI. I watched the video, her movement and attitude towards her audience felt very robotic and not genuine. A real person wouldn’t prove they’re not an AI with a video that has one basic background (and loud background audio of a public space, seemingly added in)🫠 multiple people were in her replies accepting the video as evidence she’s a human.

The fan account one is crazy because this is obviously not meant to be funny but to be deceiving. Using Kanye West’s likeness was an intentional choice to avoid mainstream attention right now.

Lastly, it is not a coincidence that all of these accounts are women and black people. This is why it’s important to support real women and POC in your community so they can have larger audiences than this modern minstrelsy by @charlesfoxcreates

A really good story to read nowadays, 1969 in New York City history was made. The LGBTQ+ community makes this world more enjoyable for everyone. It’s hard to imagine there isn’t something you appreciate that wasn’t created or co created by gay people, and even if there isn’t, the principle of allowing them to exist gives everyone personal freedom to be themselves by @charlesfoxcreates
