“Forever is a very long time...” If you’re behind on your 2025 reading goals (I’d rather not discuss mine…), at 73 pages, I’ve got the perfect last-minute addition to your TBR. The Elixir is a story about grief, lost potential, and the ways love makes us foolish, told through a cast of accidental immortals who aren’t all handling eternity well. Pour a glass of wine—preferably one you didn’t find in an ancient abandoned cellar—and sink into this moody New England gothic. #kindleunlimitedbooks #novella #dark #bookstagram by @charliebrazen

✨ I HAVE NEVER BEEN A SOFT THING ✨ “I traded my wool for barbed wire, crafted from the iron left in my veins by the women who survived before me.” 🐺🔥 In this world where women and femmes are continually forced to protect themselves against systems built to devour, oppress, and harm, these lines from Charlotte Jean’s @charliebrazen Soft Things Have Sharp Teeth echo with profound, burning relevance. 🖤🩸 We learn far too young that being called a daughter, a sister, or a friend does not guarantee safety. So we arm ourselves with the resilience, iron, and sharp edges passed down by the generations of women who survived before us. As our collective rage grows, this poem feels less like verse and more like a battle cry. . 🛡️⚔️ We will not be quiet. We will not be easily devoured. 🤍✨ Read the full poem in Soft Things Have Sharp Teeth, available now: 🛒 https://a.co/d/0gntL2RP ❓ QOTD ❓ What is a line of poetry or art that gives you strength when facing collective grief and anger? 💭👇 #softthingshavesharpteeth #quillkeeperspress #poetrycollection #womensempowerment #indiepoetry by @charliebrazen
There is something to be said about choosing what consumes you. Soft Things Have Sharp Teeth is officially out in the world! This collection is so many things—rage and desire and mother wounds and and and. This snippet is from The Feast. I remember writing the first draft… ➡️ … in my notes app (where most things are born) in my first apartment in Boston. At that time, I hadn’t written a poem I was proud of in a couple of years but this one tore out of me in a fury. After it was done I just sat there staring at the screen for a minute wondering what just happened. I’m proud of every piece in this collection, buuuut this one is a personal fave. You can read The Feast and the rest of the collection now. (Newsletter babes, you may get a little bit more of a snippet sooooon.) #poetry #debut poems yearning by @charliebrazen

The hurt is generational. So is the rage. Read the rest of “is it not better” and 13 other pieces in my debut poetry collection “Soft Things Have Sharp Teeth” coming from Quillkeepers Press on 10/13. #poetry #chapbook feminine rage If you’d told me this time last year I’d be releasing my first collection of poetry—filled with pieces I’d been building up over several years, keeping close to my chest, chewing on, never thinking they’d see the light of day—I’d have laughed in your face. But here we are. I’m still working on “Carefully Yours” and other novels but if you can show this baby some love I’d appreciate it! #motherwound #debut #poet by @charliebrazen
