Jasper’s room now and then. Small but with big personality, much like its current occupier. Taking inspiration from the natural golden glow of the space and bringing in as many finishing touches as we’ve had time to source along the way. As soon as he moved in here he started sleeping through the night which I think just proves all he ever needed was some beautiful wallpaper and decorations. Birthday cake content that’s only a month behind 🎉 2 years of Jasper called for, at his request, chocolate cake. A toddler of great taste. He spent the last few months perfecting singing himself Happy Birthday and had the best day belting it out in the sun. Sadly for the number 2 cake, the outdoor gathering it was intended for was rained off, which is of course typical after a literal drought of a summer. Luckily it made it to a family gathering in one piece and was eventually consumed by many willing participants. Shiny, happy times for our shiny, happy person. What a 2 years it has been! by @charlinice

Sardinia part 2, the north! From Muravera to Badesi where after a road trip I’ve been trying to forget ever since, we checked in to @resortledune.

Priorities for the week included this

There were more small towns to explore in the north and even though the scattering of shops were still few and far between, there was a noticeable difference between here and the gloriously rustic and untouched south east.

Isola Rossa

Palau. Gateway to La Maddalena and beyond. 10/10 playground with bakery next door.

A whistle stop to La Maddalena. Throughly recommend taking a ferry as a foot passenger, seeking out focaccia and then making the return journey back again.

Back to business

Busier beaches. Sky and sea still approved by all.

Sardinian summer scenes! The glorious beaches of the South.

We stayed in a beach cabin at @4morifamilyvillage which was perfectly placed for beach trips, pool days, markets and spotting the resident flamingos.

Milo’s room. How it’s going. How it started. And every nap time/post-bedtime shift in between. Not fully finished, because nothing ever really is, but complete enough for now with plenty of space to grow. The first of our renovated rooms and a real labour of love that will hopefully set the scene for many years of magic ahead.

This is 37. Which is bizarre because 27 was only yesterday? Checked into The Grove and basked in sunshine, spa visits and endless food. A delayed celebration owing to the fact that after a day with my two buds making birthday soup and eating plenty of cake on my actual birthday, I got the gift of an eye infection and couldn’t see for three days. Thankfully full vision was restored in time to appreciate the blue sky that’s making April in England feel like summer in southern Europe.
