I wanted to take a moment to genuinely sit down and reflect on what has been one of the most rewarding yet challenging chapters of my life. I always knew I wanted to get into business, I just never saw what that looked like for me until @charliesrooftopbar fell into my lap.

From starting this project close to two years ago to watching the entire build process, curating an entire fit out with no design team that felt refined yet relaxed and bringing to life what was once just a concept in my mind has been euphoric.

There have been times when I’ve sat back and wondered if I am even qualified to be doing something like this. But I am constantly reminded that no one is ever truly ready and sometimes the best way to grow is simply to take the leap and figure it out along the way.

I have lost connections during this process as challenges arose and delays were significant but I also gained much more. I gained an incredible level of love for the people who have stuck by me and believe in my dreams as much as I do. I have gained an amount of self respect and belief younger me wouldn’t even dream about having.

We are now 8 days away from opening and I can’t wait to show you guys this next chapter of my life 🤍 by @charlizerappa

I am me because of them. Their kindness, their love, their strength, their knowledge, their humour and their characteristics are what make me, me. I often pause to think about how truely lucky I am to be surrounded by incredible women who understand that value runs deeper than materialistic things and is noted in the way you leave people feeling, the way you show up for others and the love you pour freely without expecting anything in return. The reason I strive for excellence is to show it is possible for those that don’t believe they can. The reason I love deeply is to show that everyone deserves love as they are. The reason I am me is truely because of those I am surrounded with and what a blessing it is to be surrounded by people who are strong, kind and confidently themselves. 💓 by @charlizerappa
