My 40 Era Begins

Accomplished and overly talented — yet somehow haven't reached my potential. I’m learning to be less tough on myself… slowly, reluctantly, with side-eye. Corporate girly by day, aspirational wellness icon by morning, and someone whose knees crack like glow sticks by night. My skin is glowing, my hair is filing a complaint and my back hurts in ways that feel spiritually disrespectful.

This year wasn’t easy — there were days I questioned everything, felt like I was failing, cried in silence, and carried far more than I admitted. My pride has a habit of saying, “I got it,” even when I very much do not. But I’ve learned that resilience is sometimes just showing up again.

I’m blessed with beautiful friendships and family even though I've been permanently employed as the family secretary. I live in my favorite place on earth, NYC, where the streets run through my veins. My closet is full, I borrow pieces from work like it’s a shared community resource, and my downfall will forever be my shoe collection. Yes, I do wear Manolos on the subway!

Expert restaurant or bar finder in any neighborhood in any country and can pretty much charm my way into anywhere. I travel, though I deeply hate flying. Dog lover forever — always missing you, Ceviche. 🐾💛

My style is simple, graceful, intentional. The ocean + palm trees + my curly hair = my recharge ritual. I enjoy going out but I also love being home, alone, on my couch, being a cozy little bum!

Work out occasionally… but genetics is really doing the heavy lifting and my stomach pudge remains my lifelong nemesis and we are at war!

So here I am:

40. Glowing. Unbothered. Still evolving. Still hilarious. Still very much the main character in soft focus lighting.

Cheers to another year of doing my best, looking fabulous, and pretending adulthood is a personality trait. 🥂✨ by @charnellallen

A heartfelt evening at the Ronald McDonald Annual Gala 45th Anniversary @rmhnewyork

On my sister’s angel birthday, I’m reflecting on how grateful I am for the amazing work this organization does for families in need. It’s a privilege to stay involved and continue supporting in her memory.
