Today marks one week of having our rescue baby. Shadow also turns 3 months old today.

Our baby boy has learned so much in such a short amount of time. He now knows his name, sit, come, crate, and paw. He is currently learning stay, leave it, and bed. He sleeps in his crate through the night with no problems.

And I am learning patience. 🙃 by @chas_city_

This one is special..

Today is the start of the Puerto Rican Day Parade Festivities in Western Massachusetts.

The Non-Profit I work for marches in the parade every year and since I have started working with them, so do I.

This year we were invited to attend the PR Parade Breakfast to recognize and celebrate those who have put together the parade and who continuously hold the community together by honoring the culture. One of the board members being @angellemariie shout out to you for ALL of the community work you do and how much of yourself you pour into your people.

Anyways,

I knew immediately what I was going to wear. Shout out to @byignatius for designing this shirt. I received so many compliments on it.

I met @byignatius at a Puerto Rican Perreo thrown by @awesomezaucy in Bushwick, NY. Shortly after we found out he does photography and we hired him to take our wedding photos. He was also our witness. 🖤

I enjoy making connections like this and recognizing how many special and talented people there are in the world and how we all bring our own coolness and share it with one another.

Anywho, this is a little reminder to keep community going by supporting those we come across who hold not only a similar story or struggle with us but also have the same drive and passion for the people.

And if you haven’t educated yourself on what’s going on in PR right now please do and find what ways to best support those on the island.
