A young woman came by the house today, and we ended up talking about yeast of all things.

I showed her how it blooms, how it wakes up when you feed it, and her interest was peaked.

Then I asked her, “Want to try making some bread yourself?”

She didn’t hesitate.
She jumped right in, smiling, learning, and surprising herself along the way.

It reminded me how powerful it can be to just offer someone the chance to try.

Sometimes people rise the same way yeast does:
Give them warmth, give them time, and they’ll show you what they can do.

Proud of her.

A wise friend @itsdjcarr told me that I needed to start celebrating myself more.

My diploma came in the mail a couple days ago. This is degree is a testament of God’s grace and mercy. So not only am I celebrating me, but I’m giving God his due praise for bringing me through. by @chasdonald_
