This was my first ultra marathon (50k) and it humbly taught me more than I expected.
I learned a lot about myself. About how similar this is to life.
There are highs where everything feels smooth and strong… and lows where doubt creeps in and every step is a fight.
Moments where I feel in control, and moments where I’m just holding on.
Throughout the training and the race, Hebrews 12:11 kept coming back to me
That’s what this was. Discipline. Refinement. Growth.
I’m continuing to build where my mind goes when things get hard,learning to stay steady, to keep showing up, to take the next step no matter how I feel.
And ultimately, I’m reminded that none of this is in my control anyway.
I have to place all of my trust and energy into God’s will.
Grateful for the lessons. Grateful for the struggle. by @chaselooper

5 years ago I wrapped a whistle around my neck and stepped onto the field as a coach for the first time. I was lost, confused, depressed, and enduring a mountain of adversity in my life that seemed insurmountable. However, God opened a door and gave me you guys. You boys and you coaches. You gave me life, a purpose, and helped me find my passion. I watched you grow into men and always hoped it was me that could change your life, but it was you that changed mine. We endured highs, we endured lows. We set goals and pursued them relentlessly. We learned that winning and losing isn’t about a scoreboard. It’s about choosing to fight even when success isn’t promised. It’s about getting up 10 times when you’ve been knocked down 9. I hope you guys remember, that you are always in the fight, no matter what. Just keep fighting. You make me proud and it feels as if a part of me went away last night. Thank you for letting me be a part of the ride. I love you and will always have your back. by @chaselooper
