HYPOCRISY OF THE HIGHEST ORDER

Isn’t it disgusting how @annastaciamp touts tourism as being important to @queensland when it suits, then kills the very animals people pay to come and see, in taxpayer funded shark nets?

If you’re not enraged, you’re not paying attention. Share this far and wide, the world needs to see.

We truly hope @stevenmilesmp will be better!

We’ve got more of this clip… you won’t believe how this incredible animal was disposed of. It’s is truly jaw-dropping.

Coming soon.

MORE HUMPBACKS ENTANGLED IN QUEENSLAND SHARK NETS

This program, despite its proven ineffectiveness, is set to be expanded by Queensland Premier @david_crisafulli, based on lies and policies.

This footage is from the Rainbow Beach shark net entanglement (27/09/25), which lasted over 10 hours. The whales were eventually released but their fate is unknown.

🦈💔 When “Humane” Isn’t Humane 💔🦈

We often hear about “humane euthanasia”—ending suffering with compassion.

But what if that suffering was intentionally caused in the first place?

If an animal is hooked, stressed, injured, and then euthanized, is that really humane? Or just a moral cover-up?

👉 Humane euthanasia should relieve unavoidable pain—not follow pain we created.

So when sharks are caught on drumlines, suffer for hours, and are then “put down” for public safety, we need to ask: Is this compassion, or just convenience?

🧠 True humanity means preventing suffering, not just ending it.

Let’s stop excusing cruelty with kind words. Let’s call it what it is—and choose better.

The postcard Australia doesn’t want you to see. 🇦🇺💔

While tourism ads show pristine waters and happy whales, this is the reality right off our beaches. This is my footage of a humpback whale and calf heavily entangled in a shark net that the Queensland government knowingly leaves in the whales migratory path.

What you can’t fully see in this clip is the behaviour of the escort whales. They were blowing bubble rings, making sharp turns, and acting erratically toward rescue boats—showing pure, undeniable distress for their companions.

These nets don’t create a wall. They are floating traps that indiscriminately catch, injure, and kill migrating marine life. It is time to replace outdated 1960s nets with modern, non-lethal drone and sonar tech.

The ocean is allowed to be wild — as long as humans can control it.
Sharks aren’t hated because they’re dangerous.
They’re hated because they don’t answer to us.

Dolphins can sometimes detect shark nets, but the nets’ thin material and environmental conditions often make them hard to perceive.

Many dolphins die each year due to being trapped in shark nets, once caught, if it can’t surface to breathe it will drown within minutes.

NETS OUT NOW! ACTION IN DESCRIPTION

Check out this heartbreaking footage of this double humpback entanglement at Rainbow Beach (QLD) shot by @chasing_ocean_life.

The calf is released at the end of this clip, but mum took another 4 hours to free, and was exhausted and listless upon release.

The survival of both is unknown, as DPI do not track post release mortality.

On Tuesday October 7th, we’ll be doing a dial in campaign to @david_crisafulli’s office to let him know we want shark nets gone from Queensland beaches, at the very least, during whale migration season.

For talking points, script, phone number and everything you need to participate, RSVP on Facebook to indicate you’ll participate and receive updates (facebook.com/share/196uo54sSP) or join the @envoyfilm “Be an Envoy” broadcast channel to receive info on the day! 🔈 by @chasing_ocean_life
