My first trip to Kenya with the Red Trunk Project feels like a different lifetime, before motherhood, before so much growth and change.

Now I’m heading back for two weeks, grateful for a partner who never blinks at the things that move me, and proud to show my daughters that their mom still creates, still wanders, still pays attention to the magic.

A year ago today, I started working for @drlaurenhughes and to say that this has been the role of a lifetime is really an understatement. I couldn’t have dreamed this role up for myself if I tired.

Getting laid off trashed my confidence. I questioned what I was good at, where I belonged, and what the f I was supposed to do next. Turns out rejection is indeed just redirection. Annoying, but noted (thanks @meg.b.in.dc)

Now I get to spend my time building, creating, problem-solving, and saying “okay but hear me out” 10x a day, because my insane ideas are actually bangers and I am really good at what I do!

A whole year of building cool shit, doing work that matters, and somehow finding a job that has turned all of the magic I tried to dim down to make myself easy to work with, into an explosion of creativity and joy. I’m doing work I’m really proud of with someone I deeply believe in and love.

I hope my little celebration serves as a reminder that what’s for you won’t pass you. ♥️ by @chasingdenisse

Ten years together and 7 yrs married today! A decade of growing up together. After all this time, my favorite part is still that I get to do all of this with you.
