🇳🇴 Oslo City Hall (Rådhuset) — an unexpected gem we added after our cruise, and I’m so glad we did! Inside, every wall tells a story. The grand murals and intricate wood carvings celebrate Norway’s history, daily life, and mythology. One of the most detailed carvings depicts scenes from Norse legends — handcrafted from oak to symbolize strength and endurance. It’s not just beautiful — this is where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony takes place each year! 🕊️ #oslocityhall #visitnorway #postcruiseadventures #nordicdesign #traveleurope #cruiseaddon #culturaltravel #nobelpeaceprize #scandinavianart #travelmoments by @chasinglifewithkate

🎤 Dancing Through Day 2 at the ABBA Museum 💃🕺🇸🇪 Our second excursion on Day 2 took us straight into the glitter, glam, and groove of Swedish pop history at the ABBA Museum! 🪩 From original costumes to interactive exhibits (yes, you can sing with holograms 🎶), this place is a full-on celebration of one of the world’s most iconic bands. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or just know a few hits, it’s impossible not to leave with a smile—and a song stuck in your head. The energy was contagious, and now we’re fully convinced that “Mamma Mia!” should be the soundtrack to every vacation. #abbamuseum #stockholmadventures #swedentravel #daytwovibes #dancingqueenmoment #popculturefix #mammamiaherewegoagain #scanditravel #wanderlustdiaries #traveleurope #musichistorymagic by @chasinglifewithkate
🇸🇪 Exploring Stockholm on Foot: Hidden Gems & Royal Surprises We started our second day in Sweden with one of our favorite travel tips — a free walking tour! These tours are tip-based, so you only pay what you think it’s worth (and they’re usually totally worth it). Our guide took us through the charming streets of Gamla Stan (Old Town), sharing quirky stories and showing us some amazing hidden spots: 🪑 The Iron Boy — the smallest public statue in Stockholm, just 15 cm tall! 🔽 The narrowest alley in the city, Mårten Trotzigs Gränd — we could barely fit through! 👀 And by total accident, we stumbled upon the Changing of the Guard at the Royal Palace — such a cool moment to catch! It was the perfect way to start the day: full of fun facts, beautiful views, and a bit of royal flair. If you’re heading to a new city, do the walking tour early — it helps you get your bearings and some insider tips from a local. #stockholmwalkingtour #gamlastan #swedentravel #freewalkingtour #hiddengems #changingoftheguard #budgettravelhack #wanderlusteurope #scandiadventures #DayTwoInStockholm by @chasinglifewithkate
🚢 Wrapping Up Day One in Sweden at the Vasa Museum 🇸🇪 To round off our first day in Sweden, we visited the incredible Vasa Museum — and WOW. Seeing a real 17th-century warship that spent over 300 years underwater and is now 98% original was absolutely mind-blowing. The level of detail, the history, and the story of its dramatic maiden voyage (which lasted only 20 minutes before it sank!) made it one of the most unique museums we’ve ever been to. A must-see if you’re in Stockholm! Can’t believe how much we packed into Day 1 — from city strolls and the Nobel Museum to the epic Vasa, Sweden is already making a strong impression. #vasamuseum #stockholmvibes #swedentravel #scandihistory #firstdayadventures #traveleurope #museumgoals #ShipwreckToShowpiece #cruisetoland #wanderlustmoments #stockholmsights #scandiculture by @chasinglifewithkate
🇸🇪 Post-Cruise Adventures in Stockholm: Strolling & Nobel Moments ✨ The first part of the day started out with a peaceful wander through Stockholm — cobblestone streets, colorful facades, and that relaxed Scandinavian vibe that makes you want to slow down and soak it all in 😍🚢🌿 This was followed by a visit to the Nobel Museum 🎓💡 — a powerful reminder of how one idea can truly change the world. Fun fact: every chair in the museum’s café is signed by a Nobel Laureate who has visited! 🪑✍️ Definitely a highlight and the perfect way to ease into Swedish life with some inspiration. #postcruisevibes #stockholmwander #swedentravel #nobelmuseum scandiadventure #traveleurope #cruisetoland #wanderlustdiaries #culturehit #travelmoments #sweden #stockholm by @chasinglifewithkate

📍From Saunas to Storybooks — A Perfect Day in Helsinki! 🇫🇮✨ Helsinki, Finland was a stunning surprise on our cruise with @norwegiancruiseline — a perfect port stop packed with history, design, and of course… saunas! 🧖‍♀️🔥 Marking country #28 for me, the day kicked off with a free walking tour (recommended tip: €15 💶), where we learned all about Finnish culture — including their legendary love of saunas (did you know there are over 3 million saunas in Finland for a population of just 5.5 million?!). 📚 Highlight of the Day: The absolutely breathtaking Oodi Library! • Opened in 2018 • Named one of the most innovative libraries in the world • Features 3D printers, recording studios, a movie theater, and a living room-style space for all • A true community hub and a must-see for design lovers! ⛴️ This was a port stop on our Northern Europe cruise with @norwegiancruiseline and it completely exceeded expectations — clean air, calm vibes, and creativity everywhere. 📸 Your Turn: What’s your favorite unexpected travel gem? Or, would you rather spend the day in a library or a sauna? ✨Fairytales & First Impressions: Falling for Tallinn 🇪🇪 | Country #27 Tallinn, Estonia completely stole the show — and officially became one of my favorite stops on my @norwegiancruiseline Cruise! 🛳️✨ This beautiful city marked country #27 for me, and I’m already planning a return trip for the Christmas markets 🎄 (because it’s that magical). I explored the UNESCO-listed Old Town with a tip-based walking tour (I tipped €15), and it was the perfect way to dive into Estonia’s rich history — from medieval legends to Soviet resistance. 🗺️ Highlights: 🏰 Panoramic views from Toompea Hill over the red rooftops 🕯️ Wandering narrow alleyways that looked straight out of a fantasy novel We also sampled some local Estonian dishes at a cozy spot in the Old Town — hearty and comforting! 🍽️ Dinner for three came to €78 total 🥯 And I couldn’t resist a warm Estonian donut for €4 — sweet, simple perfection Tallinn felt like stepping into a fairytale — and I’m already counting down to experiencing it in winter under twinkling lights. Have you ever visited a place that instantly made your “must return” list? ⚓️ Baltic Beauty Stop: Riga in a Day! 🇱🇻✨ Riga, Latvia marked my 26th country — and what a memorable stop on my @norwegiancruiseline Cruise! 🛳️💙 With just a few hours in port, I squeezed in a walking tour and soaked up so much history, charm, and culture. 🗺️ Highlights included: 🌳 Bastejkalna Park, a peaceful space with a tragic past — where citizens were shot during Latvia’s fight for independence 🌟 The striking Freedom Monument, topped with three stars representing Latvia’s historic regions The walking tour was technically free, but tipping is customary — I gave €15 and it was incredibly worth it! 🍽️ Lunch in the Old Town? A cozy, satisfying stop for just €25 total. Riga wowed me with its mix of storybook streets and powerful stories — not bad for a single day ashore. Would you explore a city in just a few hours? Drop a 🌍 if you’ve done a port stop sprint — or share your favorite Baltic destination! #country26 #balticcruise #norwegiancruiseline #ncl #nclgetaway #nclfreestylecruising #rigalatvia #portstopadventures #cruisetravel #cruiseport #nclcruiselife #traveleurope #budgettravel #freewalkingtour #simpliadventures #freedommonument #latviatravel #cruisestopexploring #norwegiancruises #latvialove #nclmoments by @chasinglifewithkate
