As Stay Calm’s festival run comes to an end, I am very grateful for the love it has received not just from these festivals and jurors but also the audiences. Having people come up to me after the screening to shake my hand and tell me how much they enjoyed my film and more importantly which character they side with is a feeling unlike no other. We are currently working on finding an online distribution platform so those who didn’t get to see it on the big screen can see it on the small one, so stay tuned for that. But again, a huge shoutout to the festivals that gave it a chance and the cast and crew that helped me get there!

We had the pleasure of catching up with @rickjoaquim to talk about his award-winning short Stay Calm directed by @chasontoast

Rick chose a trusted set of MiniHAWKs to keep the build compact while still delivering those classic anamorphic characteristics and impressively close focus

We’re excited to announce that the Audience Award at the last Sunday’s event in Lisbon goes to Stay Calm, a short film directed by @chasontoast 🎬
Here’s a little bit about the film:

When a violent hate criminal collapses in the street, three paramedics are forced to confront more than just a life-or-death emergency. As the clock ticks and his condition worsens, their personal values and professional duties collide. Stay Calm is a tense, morally complex drama that asks: what happens when the person you’re trying to save stands against everything you believe in? Gritty, emotional, and deeply human, this short film leaves you questioning where compassion ends and justice begins.

By the end of the screening we noticed that Stay Calm sparked conversations among our audience and so they voted!
Congratulations Chas and to the entire team behind this powerful short 👏👏
