Alright, we’re back after a few setbacks: corrupted footage, serious burnout, holidays, and juggling future projects. Wanted to wrap up this sauna build and not leave it undone. Pretty psyched about how everything turned out, considering I’m a semi-amateur DIYer. Things aren’t perfect or 100%, but I’m stoked on the overall result. Finally wrapped up this slat divider wall with an attached desk! Took a bit longer than planned, got a little distracted along the way. But hey, now I’ve got a solid desk to work at.

Silence has lingered here for a while, but I owe you an update on the fire that nearly claimed my home these last couple of weeks.

I was down the hill, working on a storefront when word came of a fire near my aunt and grandmother in Highland. Little did I know, that same fire would soon come for my house. Friday night, I returned to check on things, fix a broken well pump. Fires on that ridge aren’t new, nothing to worry about then. But by Saturday morning, the wind had shifted. The fire was no longer a distant threat; it was tearing down the ridge, advancing toward everything my dad and I have built.

In the daylight clips, you can see it creeping across the hill, devouring the land like a slow, inevitable force. Within an hour, the flames had consumed the 330. Watching that devastation unfold, packing up the house felt surreal, standing on the edge of the deck, facing something too massive to fight. We braced ourselves for the worst.

My dad’s words echoed: “If the truck won’t run, push it into the field. Better to leave it out there than let it burn in the house.” And so, I found myself dragging the car he’s had since he was 16 out into the open, leaving it to the whims of fire and fate.

We said our goodbyes—to the house, the land, the small, irreplaceable things. The power was cut, and with it, my connection to the place. No cameras, no updates—just smoke and uncertainty.

When the power turned back on, all I saw was a haze of smoke. By morning, the flames had just stopped. The next few days helicopters were putting in work. For days, I was glued to the cameras, watching brave souls hold the line, risking their lives for something I had all but given up on.

For now, there’s calm. @goatprod and @ccooqquu_ helped me last night, bringing the truck back into the garage—such a small act, yet it felt like reclaiming a piece of my soul.

This little oasis has been here forever but never had much water until this year. It’s a 5-minute hike from my back door. Finally got around to cleaning it up a bit, and the first test run was a success!
