Community advocate running for Colorado House District 17. Fighting for housing, economic dignity & transit justice in Southeast Springs.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

About a year ago, we started this campaign because we wanted to give people living in HD17 a choice on who should represent them at our state capitol. On June 30th, join us to watch the election results and celebrate how our campaign is making a push for a new generation of politics for HD-17 and the state of Colorado! See you from 6 pm - 8 pm at the Hillside Community Center!

Yesterday was an amazing gathering! Thank you to Izzy and Laila for opening their home, and Councilwoman Kimberly Gold for co-hosting! We talked with new voters, and talked about the importance of doing politics differently. Some may think we are a one issue candidate, but the truth is residents of HD17 deserve a representative that wants to see all people have economic dignity, housing for all and show up for you.

It was great to be able to hear concerns about transportation accessibility and even questions about why I decided to follow the path of public service. As a young Black man in this society I've seen a lot of things happen and people I know or don't know are impacted and I see their lives change just a little bit from the work I do is the reason why I wanted to run for office.

Remember you have until next Tuesday pm to get your ballots to a ballot dropbox! 🗳

Unfortunately, our bid for a spot on the November election ballot has ended. First, we want to thank all our supporters for your work and donations that let people know about our campaign. We could not have run the campaign that we did without you!

Secondly, we are extremely proud of the campaign we have run. We have created a movement that asks the Colorado Springs community what type of Democrats we want representing us. So while we didn't make the ballot for the general election, we will be working to help other great democratic leaders win this coming November!

Thank you again for your support! The work continues! ✊🏾🙏🏾

This campaign started a year ago with the goal of changing people's perspectives of who can run for office and when they can run. Look at all the work we have done and people we have educated on political consciousness and the importance of participating in local elections!

Election day is TOMORROW! Our campaign is ecstatic about the endorsements we have received from community members, representatives, and interest groups. We wanted to give HD17 choice to vote for for this primary and believe we have made our case why we are the best candidate in this race

Thank you to these public officials/organizations that voiced their belief we are the best to lead this district!

Remember you have until 7pm TOMORROW to get your ballots to a ballot dropbox! 🗳

Yesterday was such an amazing Juneteenth! We had the opportunity to visit @concretecouch, saw a lot of great community leaders, discover some amazing resources, and talked with voters about the issues that are most important to them. Plus we got to see Batman, he even said he loves seeing our signs out and about. I love my community and love celebrating the culture, remember vote June 30th 7pm 🗳

Our campaign is honored to be endorsed by the Colorado Black Trade Unionist! This org is leading in the front lines of introducing and advancing the trades for black people, we look forward to working with them in order to advance the trades and bring more opportunities to the Southeast! by @chauncyforhd17

Today we recognize Juneteenth, not just as a historical moment. However, we recognize the importance of how far we have come. From President Lincoln ending the war and freeing our people, to the modern day national recognition and federal holiday. There is so much more we can do! Today we recognize how far we have come in the fight to protect from the diluting of our history, because black history is American history and we can never erase that away. Happy Juneteenth ✊🏾 by @chauncyforhd17

Can you believe it, we are 2 weeks away from the June 30th primary election! I just wanted to share a few important things, first that ballots have been mailed and if you haven't received yours, reach out to the El Paso County Clerk & Recorder to do so. Also, if you traditionally mail in your ballot, you have until the 22nd to do so. Get them in by this Friday to ensure it gets there on time (Colorado Springs mail is sent to Denver, then redirected back to El Paso county). State law allows you to return up to 10 ballots including yours in a ballot dropbox. If you know a neighbor can't get to a drop box you can do it for them!

Below we have the link to check where you nearest drop box is, ultimately you have until June 30th at 7pm.
