Year one - Final Major Project at @fashionretailacademy

This capsule collection explores the tension between the desire to escape into a childlike creativity and the relentless pursuit of perfection. Set in a futuristic world where artificial intelligence and optimisation have taken control, perfectionism is imagined as a virus that gradually consumes creativity.

Look one - Infection: The virus of perfectionism begins to take hold.
Look two - Rehabilitation: Escapism begins to overcome infection.
Look three - Escapism: A complete transformation into creative freedom.
Look four - Resurgence: Perfectionism rapidly takes control, leaving a small trace of colour on the garment.
Look five - Conflict: Creativity and perfectionism exist as opposing forces in conflict.
Look six - The Brink of Consumption: Perfectionism is close to total control, creativity is on the brink of extinction. by @chayagrandage

This garment explores the tension between the desperate need for perfection and yearning for a childlike creativity - an attempt to escape perfectionism.

Perfectionism is imagined metaphorically as a virus, infecting and destroying creativity. The project also critiques the rise of artificially generated art and society’s increasing need to ‘optimise’ every aspect of life. by @chayagrandage

The flash interrupts the silence, capturing a moment in the aftermath.
