Into the Essence — Episode 1

ChaYi was created long before the first cup was ever served. It began with something simple: tea being part of everyday life.

Growing up in a Chinoy family meant tea was always around. shared over family meals, served during celebrations, and present in the quiet moments in between.

Then came a year in China.

There, tea was experienced differently. It wasn’t simply something added to a drink. It was part of the culture, the routine, and the experience itself.

Even in modern tea shops, the tea still mattered. Coming back to the Philippines brought a realization: Tea could be more than something familiar. It could be something people discover.

Something authentic, yet approachable.
Rooted in tradition, yet made for everyday life.

And that became the idea behind ChaYi.

Not to reinvent tea.
Not to make it complicated.

But to bring the essence of Chinese tea culture a little closer to home — and into the everyday lives of Filipinos. This is where the story begins.
