After 12 trips to Lakeview, 5 summers, and 4 years, my journey in Fish Camp has come to an end. This organization defined my college experience, and I’m blessed to have something so special that it’s hard to say goodbye.

Camp Simpson, thank you for kickstarting my time at A&M and reassuring me that Aggieland was the right decision.

Camp Halstead, thank you for giving me my first place to call home and showing me I could make a difference.

Camp Majors, thank you for teaching me to lead and fill others’ cups.

Camp Brown, thank you for rebuilding my confidence in building others up.

Camp Fisher, y’all are everything to me. Watching y’all grow over the last few months, and seeing it all unfold at Lakeview has been the most fulfilling experience of my life. Y’all taught me so much, and pushed me to bring my best for y’all every day. Each of y’all has impacted me and so many others, and I couldn’t have imagined a better group to end my time in this org with.

Kaitlyn, my perfect partner, none of this would have been possible without you. You’ve been my rock these last 7 months and poured everything into this camp, even when your own cup was empty. Camp Fisher wouldn’t be Camp Fisher without you, and I’m thankful to have had my best friend by my side through it all. You truly are the reason that 24 anonymous applications became a family, and I’m so grateful for you.

Kim, you are the true embodiment of what it means to be a namesake. Representing your name has been an honor, and I couldn’t thank you and Roger enough for your dedication to our camp! You’re everything Kaitlyn and I could’ve hoped for in a namesake.

Thank you so much for everything, Fish Camp. You changed my life. It’s more than an organization, and I’m eternally grateful for every memory and relationship built over these years.

This organization has truly given me so much and defined my college experience. I genuinely do not know where or who I’d be today without it. Thank you, @tamuslide for the last three years and for giving me more than I could’ve imagined.

Extremely blessed to have been given the opportunity to head back to Lakeview a third time as a counselor. Camp Brown is a such a special family, and I just want to take a moment and put my gratitude in words:

To my DG kiddos, I’m so incredibly proud of y’all for opening up and bringing so much life into every discussion. From the very first DG time, y’all immediately brought so much energy, and I’m so excited to watch and cheer y’all on during this next chapter of your lives.

Nick & Hayv, thank you for everything. Thank you for giving me so many opportunities to lead and pour into others. Thank you for creating such an amazing family that this camp is, and thank you so much for trusting me to help y’all enact this vision. I cannot be more grateful to have y’all as my chairs.

Sofia, we did it. You’ve been the most amazing and supportive partner that I could’ve asked for. You bring so much excitement and enthusiasm into everything you do, and I couldn’t have done it with anyone else. I’m endlessly proud of you.

Every counselor in Camp Brown, I’m so thankful for the family we’ve become and created these last few months. You’ve each left an impact on me and so many others, and I can’t wait to see the memories we continue to make together.

Mrs. Brown, you’ve been more than a perfect namesake. You’ve gone above and beyond what it means to support each and every one of us. I’ve never seen a namesake so involved that cares so deeply for every person in this camp. It was an honor to get to represent your name.

While it’s bittersweet that my counselor journey has come to an end, I couldn’t have asked for a better camp to end it off with. This organization has quite literally changed my life, and Camp Brown will forever hold a special place in my heart 💚 taken in Fish Camp at Lakeview by @chazzystateler
