Denver- Special new show for you! Ten years ago this fall we put our first album “Nailed It” out into the world. Indie 102.3s The Punkyard hosts our celebration of its 10th anniversary with a ONE NIGHT ONLY show with our friends in SPELLS and the Nervous, at HQ October 2nd.
We will be playing the album in full (+some other stuff if you don’t leave before it’s over), if there’s an oldie that is close to your heart you wish you could hear this is the show for you!

The new Denverse is out. Congrats to Paul French and the team for putting together another great issue. Paul's piece on social media and politics I quite enjoyed and Anthony Elio's account of his adventure of a slice of the Denver karaoke scene was pretty entertaining. And there's plenty more. For this issue I wrote a tiny bit about Denver punk. I tried to put the focus on the present but truth be told I haven't made it to Ante Up yet and the very active local hardcore scene I'm not an expert about but try to be aware of. We can trace punk in Colorado to the Ravers from Boulder that formed in 1975 or 1976. Jello Biafra was their roadie before moving to San Francisco. I first encountered local punk live when I saw King Rat and the Down-N-Outs opening for Red Aunts in 1998 and fortunately they were both great. DNO more garage rock but definitely punk spirit. And in 1999 I was going to 15th St Tavern, Cricket on the Hill (both of which are long gone) and Seven South (now Hi-Dive) and saw punk and adjacent music. And it was some of the most exciting stuff going on at the time. Before that I bought a compilation called The New Frontier put out by Soda Jerk that assembled most of the cool punk bands at the time and I saw several of them. Met some super cool people in that scene and still know people who were part of that milieu. For a few years people were wondering what happened to punk because pop punk burning out around the early 2000s was a thing locally despite there still being fans and still some bands. But in the late 2000s and early 2010s it seemed as though some people had reinvented pop punk for the much better and hardcore was definitely back. Anyway hope you enjoy the article. It's not definitive. But it's something. In the print article there are color photos of Ukko's Hammer, Gunk! and Cheap Perfume. It's a privilege to be in print so thanks also to the patrons/supporters/subscribers to Denverse. FYI someone commented something odd and I perceived as hateful so I reported it and blocked that person. I don't welcome that shit and you get no second chances with me with stuff like that. No explanations. No debate to make your case or whatever. by @cheapperfumeband

This was such a party last year and we are pumped to close out the Dad Lounge on Friday night this year. Last year in October we put out our latest record Don’t Care. Didn’t Ask. Since then we have had our busiest year ever playing shows in 21 cities in 13 states!
We know we have a lot of people to come see here but it’s been a big year for us and we’re really excited to cap it off with a very special show October 2 at HQ Denver!
We’re bringing it way way back to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our first album Nailed It, playing it in full front to back with our friends in @spellsrules and @the_nervous_band
