Much better start to this week 🌊 If last week was manic this week is “meditative.” Didn’t run the #nycmarathon (congrats to all who did!) but grateful my keys weren’t hiding and I made it out of the house to have this view for my run 🏃🏾‍♀️ #runningmotivation #runningviews #nycviews #Monday by @checkey4ny
Checkey as Chucky: after being called “Chucky” half my life (cause people can’t tell the difference between “u” and “e”; yes, I’m salty about it) it took 44 years to finally go as #Chucky this #Halloween! 🎃🔪 #childsplay #thekidsarenotalright lol by @checkey4ny
A family of rare owls on the Upper West Side could be in jeopardy — sparking outrage from the neighborhood. Conservationists worry the first-ever nest of barns owls atop a water tower at West 75th Street has been destroyed. Pictures showed the roof of the water tower missing on Thursday, leaving the family of two adult owls and 5-6 fledglings scattered. “We got reports workers were tearing down the water tower,” said Jessica Wilson, of the New York City Bird Alliance. “We’ve seen a fledgling, a baby owl, and an adult so far, but we haven’t see the other fledglings.” NYC’s Department of Environmental Conversation confirmed the damage to the nest and has directed the building near Columbus Avenue to halt demolition while it investigates. The damage to the nest has drawn condemnation from advocates who point out that tampering with the nest is a federal crime, as barn owls are a protected species. The NYC Bird Alliance said the building’s super has promised to do no more work to the water tower until the birds have moved on. #birds #animals #nyc by @checkey4ny
The Halloween weekend bender has begun. It’s not just one day but several with multiple events crammed into each. Christmas is actually a breeze compared to Halloween. But they’re so happy, wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️ ❤️ #Halloween #batcostume #princecharming #myheartswalkingoutsidemybody by @checkey4ny

As if parenting isn’t challenging enough 😤 Yet another fake threat called into my daughter’s school district. For many of us in the tri-state this has become a monthly, sometimes weekly scare. Even though practically all are hoaxes they bring lockdowns, heavily armed police, delayed school dismissals and most importantly fear for our little ones having to implement what they’ve been taught in practice drills. #schoolthreatsarenotajoke #schoolthreat #schoolthreatssuck by @checkey4ny
Hummus and crackers… what a headline from @nytimes … I mean… wow, #GenY . Makes me terrified for my #GenerationAlpha kids (my elder millennial self had to look this up since I had no idea what generation 4-7 year olds are 😆) by @checkey4ny
A Brooklyn man’s DIY speed bump didn’t fly with #NYCDOT which ripped up his speed bump today. They’ve previously stated in-depth traffic and safety studies are typically needed before changes are made to city roadways. But neighbors whose cars have been hit by vehicles speeding down Miller Ave. say they’ve requested the bumps, repeatedly, for years, with nothing done. #nbc4ny #brooklyn #cypresshills by @checkey4ny
Monday’s hittin’ hard! Pushing thru a sinus infection to go for a run on this gloriously beautiful day but of course, #Monday strikes again! Thankfully, #Zumba came to the rescue 😆💃🏾 #silverlining #cantkeepagoodgirldown #danceitout by @checkey4ny
