Thank you all so much for the birthday love yesterday. I am still receiving prophetic words and prayers, gifts and blessings. It's what happens when your birthday falls on a Sunday. A start of the week. It sets the tone and becomes a whole week celebration. And I'm just thankful. Praying that your life is sweet like honey, as you made mine.

Every year, I'm forced to reflect because we've got to number the days. It forces wisdom, growth and gives perspectives. I find myself thinking about the idea of milestones that only make sense in hindsight.

There’s a passage often referred to as the “Song of Moses” (Ex 15); a response written after a defining moment of deliverance. What strikes me isn’t just the victory, but the clarity that came after the crossing.

That resonates deeply with me this season.

Because when I look back on the past year, I don’t just see big wins; I see the quiet, almost invisible moments that carried everything:
– the doors that opened at the right time
– the strength that showed up when it was needed
– the lessons that didn’t feel like lessons at the time

What some might call coincidence, I’ve come to recognize as intentional.

Growth has looked like process.
Progress has looked like persistence.
And impact has come from consistency more than anything else.

As I step into a new year, I’m not just celebrating, I’m paying attention.

Grateful for the journey.
Grounded in purpose.
Expectant about what’s ahead.

The older I grow, the more I realize that the most powerful way to grow is to give.

Give your voice.
Give your courage.
Give your ideas.
Give your faith even when it feels small.

So much of life's journey f9r me has been built on giving; giving songs before the world heard them, giving leadership before I felt ready, giving service to communities I deeply believe in, and giving worship even in seasons when my own voice was being rebuilt.

And somehow, every time I gave… I gained.

I gained strength.
I gained clarity.
I gained purpose.
I gained people.
I gained GOD!

Today, I celebrate women who pour out their gifts into the world; quietly or boldly, knowing that nothing given in love is ever wasted.

Happy International Women’s Day. 🌍✨
Let’s keep giving. The world needs it.

As we celebrate International Women's Day today, we reflect on how women in Africa have battled for Equity. While there's been massive progress as we see many women making meaningful strides in public stages in governance, entertainment, sports, agriculture, trade, banking, health care, journalism, entrepreneurship, technology, hospitality, etc; there's still much more to achieve. Women in Africa are still experiencing gender based violence, lack of access to education, gender equality, sexual harassment, child marriage, etc.

At Check House, we renew our commitment to Young Adult's Socio-economic empowerment and progress, with a lot of focus on empowering the girl child with skills that will make her a better person of value, and empower more women who'd want to be music executives by creating opportunities for them to intern, connect and grow.

We are confident in the capacity of a woman to love, nurture, create, and build; and so we know that when we empower a woman, we are empowering a community, a nation, and our world at large.

Today, Fisayo is giving out 10 of her books for free to women who want to take ownership of their lives and make their personal progress a priority. This book, "Own Your Stuff" is about self-leadership, self mastery, and in our world today as women in Africa, we need to find a way to navigate through life successfully, in spite of the setbacks.

We won!! What a joy to have been selected to be a part of this Creative Enterprise Support Programme (Music) and then eventually getting to the final lap where we had the opportunity to do a business showcase and win grants. It's been an insightful, inspiring and interesting journey that we are proud to have been part of together with other amazing participants. Congratulations to us at Check House, and to every single one of us on this programme because being a part of the CESP (Music) was/is winning on It's own. Thank you to our amazing judges; Steve Mayall, Brenda Fashugba, Ndubuisi Kanu, Elizabeth Sobowale for their time with us at the British Council on Tuesday, June 28. A big thank you to @godwintom for setting us up for success in many ways, @ngbritisharts for the opportunity to be sponsored through this programme and for the grants, @imanageafrica @musicallybiz @ciifafrica for every single thing and way they have made this a successful journey for all of us.
