50 seconds of Hyderabad✨

everyone talks about how residency is the next big step; the long hours & the exhaustion.

But I think no one really talks about the other kind of struggle: finding yourself alone, not knowing anybody, and having to start everything over from scratch which I think a lot of people in med will relate to.
But what surprised me even more was realising that I’m not the same person I was a few years ago. Not even the same as I was last year.
I look at myself and, most days, I barely recognise who l’ve become. Everything feels different.
Some days, all I want to do is quit and go back to a time/ place of my life that doesn’t even exist anymore.

Yet, I’m so grateful that I went out of my comfort zone, boarded that bus into another city (which, honestly, was a massive step for me considering how horrible the bus driver was), and went to meet my people.
If it wouldn’t be for my sister l’d just be back home. (Now I’m permanently gonna be afraid to board a bus just incase the driver ends up yelling at me nonstop for God knows what reason.)

Somewhere along the way, I realised how much I missed being myself.
I missed those little versions of me that I barely get to bring out anymore which isn’t as sad as l’d like to think because change is proof that you’re growing right?

Seeing my best friend in the whole wide world run to me, watch the sunrise, nonstop yapping & roaming around the city with her just the way we spoke about for months before this; to go meet my new found internship bestf, bedazzle, eat like there’s no tmw and the temples of course🥹

To say my 🫀is full would definitely be an understatement.

Anyways, here’s a friendly reminder that sometimes you need to go touch grass, see your old friends, laugh for no reason, and remember that life existed before residency and will still exist outside of it.
And maybee you don’t always need to find your way back to who you were.
Sometimes, you just need a reminder that they’re there under all those dusty layers of change🥲

Anyways, my inner child has been thriving since🥰

I’ve always been a creative kid but for most of it but I felt like I couldn’t give myself permission to call myself a creative or even an artist. I had the term reserved for people who did big things, who made art that made me feel differently, who made people wonder or those who thought differently.

This went on for a very very long time and I think it still goes on. Just yesterday, I put up a reel and I wanted to use #artists and almost didn’t put it in because it would be too much. Took me a while to figure that if you enjoy creating, anything for that matter, you ARE a CREATOR. You ARE an ARTIST if you choose to bring that side out.

For the longest of times I despised being into med so much because I felt like it took away such a huge part of me. I still do, most days but now I know that you’re just a choice away from scribbling anywhere you want, a choice away from creating anything that you want.

Also, because my sister is back and so is my spark✨
