Two weeks of celebrating the rich flavors and traditions of Malabar Cuisine—what an unforgettable journey!

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible @abidarasheedclt for bringing the authentic taste, warmth, and soul of Malabar cuisine to our Food Festival at @inji.uk . Every dish told a story, every bite was a celebration, and every guest left with a smile (and probably wanting seconds! 😄).

From the entire team, thank you for your passion, dedication, and for making these two weeks so special. It's been an absolute pleasure sharing this culinary journey with you.

And on a personal note... I can finally say I almost know how to make a beautiful biriyani. 😅 Whether I can actually recreate your magic is a different story—but at least I know the secrets now! 🍚🔥

Today’s Top 5 come from Chef Patron @chef_nitt of the fabulous @inji.uk, a restaurant which takes its guests on a culinary journey to Kerala. Let’s get into his recommendations - we have a couple of restaurants making their #top5tuesday debut today!

@tropea_harborne - A relaxed Italian neighbourhood gem serving incredible handmade pasta and seasonal small plates - simple, elegant, and full of flavour.

@txikiteo_ - A lively yet refined experienced with friends, particularly sharing plates and strong wine list.

@_tigerbitespig - Mouthwatering Taiwanese inspired baos and fiery flavours that leaves you craving for more.

@panevino.uk - Rustic Italian flavours; pillowy gnocchi, handmade pasta and rich wines poured to perfection.

* @chef_nitt is sneaking in a slightly further afield venue for his final recommendation but we’re feeling generous today so we’ll allow it 😉 *

This window art I painted for Inji is inspired by the vibrant culture of Kerala, just in time for the upcoming Onam Festival 🌼

It’s been such a meaningful experience to bring a little piece of home into our shared space — with touches of puli kali (the iconic tiger dance), colorful painted masks, and of course, the memories of eating delicious Onam dishes off banana leaves!

There’s something truly special about how festivals like Onam bring people together — not just from Kerala, but across all backgrounds — to share in joy, stories, and food. The energy, the colors, the community vibes… it all reminds me how lucky I am to be surrounded by people who are open, curious, and full of love for culture, whether it’s their own or someone else’s.

It’s my little tribute to Angi and her friends and family where she comes from, shared with a community that celebrates with open hearts ♥️
