Product research development, one of my favorite activities in the kitchen, It’s a day we all get to explore our creative side,we curate new menus, develop and standardize our recipes and also work on other important aspects of the restaurant,some organizations make this a weekly activity,while some it really depends on order flow and other surrounding factors.
However, I believe systems can be put in place to ensure this is a more consistent practice in the industry especially for aspiring restaurateurs and even existing restaurants as this helps us give our clients a better experience while building a strong sense of professional ethics amongst chefs.

While working as the Sous chef at Tiffanyambercafe, I installed this system and came up with the beautiful recipes above with the support of my amazing team members in the kitchen. by @chef_teaze

Made something special ✨

Mashed potatoes & Pan seared Steak

Recipe Guide

Mashed Potatoes:

* Cut 4 big sized potatoes into small pieces.
* Salt,and boil till done.
* Easily take off the peel.
* Press it through a mesh sieve with a spoon,or wooden spatula.
* Add into a saucepan, add 20g of butter and 1/2 cup of milk
* Stir well, and serve when you get a smooth consistency.

Pan seared Steak:

* Get 300g of steak (sirloin preferably.)
* Add some olive oil and massage gently.
* Season with herbs and spice of choice.
* Heat up a pan,add some veg oil,fresh thyme&rosemary, and 2 cloves of garlic.
* Start pan searing your steak on medium heat.
* Toss some butter when it turns golden brown, pan sear both sides for 7 minutes .
* repeat the process for another 5 minutes.
* Now you have a medium-well steak.
