This week, I was incredibly honored to be named one of 2026 “Women Who Mean Business” by the @wbjnewsroom. To be amongst such talented women in all sectors of business throughout our Washington DC community is a meaniful inflection point for me.

I had a dream in 2012 that I had a brighter future. I believed in myself - that I had great ideas, abilities, business acumen and skills to start something for myself. I wasn’t pinned most likely to succeed when starting my culinary career. I stumbled from a lack of confidence and nerves. But I had true passion for my work and I have always felt that hard work and gratitude for skills and lessons I learned from my mentors and bosses would pay off in the long run. #anyonecanbeanything

I am thankful for my journey in all its imperfections - for this makes me stronger. I remain an intellectually curious person with a drive to learn the things I don’t know, then the humility to say it out loud and learn from those who do. I’m a chef who is still learning the fine art of cooking.

Restaurants are businesses, not flitting imaginations for social media, or things that just happen for a moment. They are companies that matter - to their employees, to their guests, to our city (tax revenue) and for our art culture.

So proud to receive this award and be part of this community. And onward to greater things ⭐️ taken in Washington D. C. by @chefamybdc
