*BIG POST ALERT*

Over the last year or so I've really developed a love for plants. It's something that I've always wanted to do, but I felt that I was very limited being in an apartment. My brother in law designed this shelf for me and my wife that fits over our cabinets, and it made it possible for us to have plants without worrying about our cats getting sick from eating them, and making sure they all have space. It started with a few plants that a team member gave me at my old store, and now I have multiple different kinds of plants, and they're all doing so well. I can't be happier that I have such pretty plants to care for and look after. They bring me so much joy. Some of these plants I've gotten from Home Depot and botanical gardens, and some of them have been gifts from my brother in law who also really loves plants and knows WAY more than I do, a few of them came from clippings from my mom's garden that I've propagated, and some of them are clippings from my own plants that I've propagated. It's wild that even with all the pictures here there are still some that I did not get pictures of.

I made these southwest chicken salads for me and my wife for lunch. Romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, avocado, queso fresco, street corn salsa, and a Chipotle dressing. I never really appreciated salads growing up because they had a negative connotation to me. Like why eat this when I could have a steak or a burger instead? I have a much greater appreciation for them now. The cool thing about salads is that they can be whatever you want. Don't like Romaine? Use spinach. Vegetarian but you still need protein? Use roasted chickpeas. There's so many different combinations of greens, toppings, and dressings you can be so creative in what you make. These are gas btw. by @chefboyrdaniels

I've been out of the gym for a while and I'm finally starting to go back. Today is the second day in a row that I've gone to the gym which might not sound like a lot, but it's huge for me. I've been taking it easy. I'm not jumping back into the routine I had before so I make sure I don't fuck myself up. I did triceps and biceps yesterday, and legs today. I'll do chest, back, and shoulders tomorrow, and then abs Friday. Then I'll spend three days recovering. Over the next few weeks I'll slowly add more sets for each muscle group til I'm back to where I was before. Part of posting this is to also try and hold myself accountable and make sure I'm staying consistent. Kind of like well I'm throwing it out there so now I have to hold myself to it lol. by @chefboyrdaniels

I made a blackberry and raspberry compound butter today and served it over french toast with powdered sugar and a peanut butter maple syrup. When I tell you this is one of the most delicious things I've ever had I mean that shit. The tartness from the berries with the saltiness from the peanut butter and the sweetness from the syrup all work so well together on that crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside French toast. 10/10

This is the first time I've ever cooked a steak this big. I picked up a 2 inch thick T Bone from @tomleonards in Glenn Allen and I salted it and had it uncovered in the fridge for about 36 hours. I did a reverse sear, and basted it with butter, rosemary, garlic, shallots, and thyme. I also made a potato salad and roasted asparagus to go with it. The potato salad is a recipe I got from @haileecatalano which is a sour cream and cheddar potato chip inspired potato salad that is not the only potato salad I will ever make from now on lol. It all came out fucking phenomenal. I wouldn't have changed a thing.

MY BELOVED IS BACK LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO
I still remember the first time I discovered this album back in junior high. I had never heard anything this heavy up until that point. Between the chugging heavy riffs, tight drums, and the nastiest guttural vocals of all time to this day, it is still one of my favorite slam records of all time. I am thrilled to have this album available on Spotify again.
